What cigar did you smoke today?

C-Bid is what gets me.

Isn't C-Bid just basically an auction site for CI?? I think I remember seeing that somewhere. Plus, now CI has a "make me an offer" section too. I think I need to block those sites at least until after Christmas....

Yes, CBID is their auction site. But man o man you can get some sick deals.

I've heard that, but also have been warned to stay away. Humis are full and I don't need to spend any more right now so I am refraining(for the time being at least, hehe).

A Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Torp, was awful tight until I started biting the end. Also had a Tat P2, honestly wasn't really that impressed(hate to say that because I have turned in to a Tat fan). The P2 reminded me of something we would split with a knife in college.....

Had an El Triunfidor tonight, slightly uneven burn but not too bad. Probably a Camacho Liberty 2008 for a nightcap.

A Rocky Patel CT toro, a DPG Black 1950, and a Tat Havana VI Noble on the Golf course. Finishing up an El Triunfador now. And of course I gifted my non-smoking boss a RP Java Maduro because he likes them and pays for golf.

I had my usual Tat Gran Cajonu on the course today and a Oliva O, but I had an eye on my buddies Tatuaje, it had a tan and blue label, and what looked to be a natural wrapper. I was kind of upset he didnt bring an extra for me.

I hear ya on that one, I always make sure I got some goodies to share if anyone wants one.

I always give him a hard time and take his cigars. But he always drinks my beer and whiskey, so were even. Ill find out the name later, he always manages to get his hands on new samples and such. I was too cold and still not awake this morning and didnt really look at it.

Cant wait until my round tomorrow

I found in my staff bag a:

Romeo y Julieta 1875 Reserva Real

The RyJ is a good smoke. If you like coffee, that will really bring out the flavors in it.

What I believe was a Fuente Anejo Reserva No. 50, gifted to me by my good friend Josh on my recent trip to FL.

Never had a RyJ, but one of my golf buddies swears by them...

When it comes to coffee flavored, is there any beter than the RP/Drew Estate Java????

Marlboro

I'm no afficianado, but I have enjoyed several Drew Estates Dirt Torpedos, about 5 bucks a stick, rather in expensive sweet wrapper and a mild taste I really like it and am wondering what other moderatly priced sticks yall would reccommend

I will let Gummi Bear and Craig Mac handle that. THey are our experts.

ugh, i cant smoke cigars. honestly, the last time i smoked a cigar i was literally in downtown Havana Cuba about 10 years ago. i thought i would be cool and smoke an authentic Cuban cigar (Cohiba) while eating at a streetside cafe with my buddies watching the gorgeous Cuban women walk by, and i ended up practically puking and feeling nauseous the entire rest of the day, lol... i felt like such a dumb-a$$

I love cigars and smoke them quite a bit.

I would first ask what you would consider "moderately priced". If you are looking for around $5 a stick there are a LOT of good options. I am not a big fan of the flavored cigars outside of the Drew Estate Java's, and even then it is an occasional thing. On the mild side I enjoy the Rocky Patel Connecticut($5ish) very much, and it is my go to golf course smoke. The RP CT has what I call a "buttery" flavor - creamy and delicious. For the medium to full side I would recommend Don Pepin Garcia, the Black Label(Cuban Classic $7ish) for a medium bodied smoke and the Blue Label($7ish) for a more full flavored "peppery" type of smoke. Finally, I am a huge fan of Tatuaje, the Havana VI(red label $6ish) is a little less expensive and a good medium smoke. The Tat Brown label is a little higher priced($8ish) and is med to full flavored.

Cigars are a preference thing and I could go on for days with recomendations, but I'll stick to my above list as my personal favorites, hope that helps. You can usually find some deals on the Rocky Patel and Don Pepin stuff from time to time at Cigars International that have free shipping as well. Their "Deal of the Day" is something I check on the daily. Last order I received was 10 DPG Blues for $35 and 10 DPG Black Labels for $31.99.

I had an El T this evening. It was fantastic, but I did have to re-light the darn thing because I wasn't paying enough attention to it.

Tex Ag - Here's a few suggestions for mild cigars you should be able to find at any shop:
  • Cusano 18 (natural, not the maduro) These are a Connecticut wrapper, and very mild. They are a good smoke
  • Padron 3000 - a very tasty smoke, I buy these pretty often. They're not going to knock you over, but offer plenty of good flavor. I like them along with a good dark coffee.
  • Helix (non tubos) - they catch some flack from the 'snooty' cigar crowd, but truth be told, they're a decent tasting, moderately priced, well made cigar
  • Partagas (naturals) - these have a little more kick to them, but are lights out fantastic smokes, I really like the Series S. They're funny shapes, made by master rollers, and always fantastic.
  • CAO Black - only available from www.cigarsintl.com that I know of, these are the best CAO made in my opinion
  • Arturo Fuente Sun Grown (they have a black ribbon on them) - always a good smoke
  • Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 - Again, a fine smoke. I don't have enough good things to say about them.

Next time you make it up to D/FW, let me know. We'll get together and go look at some cigars, and maybe play some golf.

Rocketsauce - you sure jumped into a big league cigar for your first one. I've had a few make me feel kind of cruddy. I had an Opus X do that to me a few years back, I thought the lights had gotten brighter in the room! If you ever decide to try another cigar, we can set you up with something much milder, and sort of ease you into smoking them. :D

Thanks Gummi Next time I plan a trip to Winstar Casino I'll let you know, maybe we can get a round and a smoke in at the same time.
