I think from my own experience i liked the feel and weight of the steel shafts. not the feel of striking the ball but the overall weight of the club. When I tried the cleveland XL 270 driver i was impressed that it didn't feel overly light. I know that is do to the balance and swing weight. the graphite shafts I had tried in the past in regards to irons always felt like a heavy club head with nothing in the middle and then a grip. that turned me off to graphite and i have never considered it again until now. I am excited to see if they can make the overall club feel right to me with these new shafts. You could flip this and ask what are the benefits of steel over graphite as well. I think what the future holds is that companies are finding abilities to manipulate and create graphite in more combinations than that of steel. Whether that translates to benefits for golfers, time will tell.
Why do tour players play steel over graphite in there irons?
