A couple different places reporting that West Virginia has been rejected by both the SEC and ACC. A bit surprised to see the Mountaineers shunned like that.

That is a little surprising, WVU is certainly worthy on the bball side, football is hit and miss. They do tend to travel well, so I'm guessing it might be related to sheer conference size?

That or the ACC already has other plans....

I really think there has been some serious behind doors discussion that are going to surprise us as far as conference moves go.

I'm a little late on this comment but it's so great to see OSU lose.. Ohio gets stupid during college football season while they pile up wins against brutal teams around here.. It's going to be nice now that they are unranked, no real shot at a national title, and not all that relevant heading into the NHL season.

I for one don't care for all these mega-conferences, give me a 12 team conference that is regional anyday. I just cant see a conference stretching from Washington to Texas, I'd think the travel budgets would be astronomical. To me that's the beauty of the SEC (and old ACC) is you could hop in the car on Sat morning and be at almost any of the schools for kickoff.

Game Day is at my Alma Mater today for the first time ever...Unfortunately I am not :banghead: Anyways...Let's Go Mountaineers!!!

Auburn vs Florida Atlantic today. I feel good about this game, lol. One of the worst defenses in NCAA (Auburn) vs the worst offense in the NCAA (FAU).

No. 15 Gorillas to Host William Jewell for Family Day Saturday

PITTSBURG, KS — The Pittsburg State University football team will return to the friendly confines of Brandenburg Field/Carnie Smith Stadium to host NCAA Division II regional foe William Jewell Saturday (Sept. 24). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (CDT).

Pittsburg State, the winningest all-time NCAA Division II program, climbed four spots to No. 15 in this week's AFCA NCAA Division II Top 25 poll Monday (Sept. 19), following the Gorillas dramatic 27-26 victory over Truman State University at Kirksville, Mo., last Saturday (Sept. 17). The Gorillas improved to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play with the come-from-behind win over the Bulldogs. Three weeks into the season, Pitt State finds itself as one of just three unbeaten teams (along with No. 1 NW Missouri State and No. 8 Washburn) in the conference.

The Cardinals, who are in their second season as a provisional member of NCAA Division II, dropped to 1-2 on the season with a 24-6 home loss to Urbana (Ill.) last Saturday (Sept. 17). WJC downed Sterling College, 33-6, on Aug. 27, before dropping a 33-0 decision to Colorado Mines on Sept. 3.
Saturday's contest will be William Jewell's first game away from Greene Stadium in Liberty, Mo.

This will be the third all-time meeting between the Gorillas and the Cardinals, but the first encounter between the schools since the 1943 season.
Pitt State holds a 2-0-0 advantage in the series winning both encounters with William Jewell during the 1943 campaign - Pitt State's first undefeated season. That year, the Gorillas posted a 13-0 win over the Cardinals on Nov. 6 in Pittsburg, before ending the year with a 32-6 victory at Liberty, Mo., on Nov. 25.

Sophomore linebacker Nate Dreiling and senior return specialist Jon Thomas each earned MIAA Player of the Week honors Monday (Sept. 19) - Dreiling snaring the honors for defense and Thomas garnering the accolades for special teams play.

Dreiling led a Pitt State defense that forced four turnovers and limited Truman to 53 net rushing yards in a 27-26 victory Saturday (Sept. 17). The Gorillas allowed just a pair of field goals and a fourth-quarter touchdown in the contest, as the Bulldogs also recorded a pair of defensive scores with an interception return and a blocked punt return. Dreiling, a Hutchinson, Kan., native, recorded a pair of drive-halting interceptions while logging a team-leading 10 tackles. The Gorillas limited reigning MIAA Offensive Player of the Week J.B. Clark to 16-for-40 passing with two QB sacks and four interceptions in the game.

Thomas sparked the Pitt State offense with a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, just seconds after the No. 19 Gorillas had fallen behind 13-0 late in the first quarter against the Bulldogs. The senior from Raytown, Mo., returned three kickoffs for a 48.0-yard average in the contest.
Thomas also caught three passes for 42 yards in the game, including a pair of grabs on Pitt State's final possession as the Gorillas drove 65 yards for the game-winning score.

The Carolina/Ga Tech game is pretty good. Ga Tech can just flat out run the ball. I'm really excited about watching Florida State put a beat down on Clemson. I despise Clemson.

Wish I were there also! WVU seems like a fun place to watch a game. I like LSU's chances in this game because of our DEF and JLee is playing pretty well.

Can't stand Clemson, or their coach.

I'm sure his comment last week after their win didn't help did it? lol

I'm with ya though, I'm not a big Dabo or Clemson fan.

Wow Choke State, way to let the crowd get into it. Sheesh.

A&M can't even get lined up and on the field, did they not even practice for the tempo offense?

I would like to see that. Last week was a small let down. Not a Clemson fan either, but I will root for them one game a year. I will root for anybody playing against Steve Spurrier. The man with the least class in all of NCAA football.

And for those keeping score at home. ECU and UAB are tied at 7-7. We must monitor college football and juvenile violence.

Trickett is good JB, real good.

This game's gonna be a barn burner.

Alabama vs. Arkansas is shaping up nicely.

Those Alabama boys are laying some licks!

Comedian just made me laugh about this game.
Said "the parents came to this game and it was a family reunion".

A&M starting to lay the wood.

It was really fun going to school there. It was a great 8 years. It's hard to get used to the all of the basketball down here in ACC Country.

Wish I were there also! WVU seems like a fun place to watch a game. I like LSU's chances in this game because of our DEF and JLee is playing pretty well.

A&M up 17-3 now...wowza.

Lane Kiffin is upset with you, he clearly wants that title.

I'm surprised to see Clemson up 21-10 at this point. However, it's about time that Swinney actually got some results out of all of the talent that he's been able to bring in there. His seat was quite warm before the season started.

Im actually not. I thought FSU was a little inflated coming in this year, because their offense is shaky at best. The defense in the next year or two will be incredible though.

My daughter is going to Texas A&M and is at that game...great place to see a football game!

What a crazy TD in the FSU game.
Ummm. QB, that is a HORRIBLE decision.

Yeah, that was beyond stupid by Boyd.
