THP FF Week 5 Thread

Wow, week 5 has had some games going on.

I think that we may be good, despite the 2nd straight week of DJ getting us virtually nothing. We just need LT to not go off, and we should be good to go. There are some really close games coming down to the wire. Chargin Rhinos vs RX Afrosheen could really come down to the end. Team Gasman vs Third String QB is going to come down to the end. And the Slump Buster Bowl is DEFINITELY going to come down to the very end.

Some other weird ones this week. ChunkyLover pulled out the victory with 2 guys short over Orlando Cart Jockeys. Impressive! And the TN Tiders put up BIG numbers again. So did the Nebraska Icemen.

Wow could have sworn I looked at that this morning and I lost. Big time injuries this week for sure. Bridges you should have sold Finley last week!! And those "experts" are right JB. I'm willing to bet that Rice is going to dominate Harvin the rest of the year. That essentially was the trade as what I said will happen is going to happen. Caddy is going to start losing time to the other backs. But I will say it again. Great trade by you. You set yourself up to win this thing. By the way what do you win if you win? I mean you already have the putter

Local news said after the game yesterday that "Caddy is the back. He will continue to get the bulk of the workload". Care to make that bet interesting? I say Caddy & Harvin come close to matching Rice's performance this year. While I wish it was not the case, with Moss in MN, you will see a different Harvin. It wont happen tonight against the Jets, but it will still happen. I wish we would have traded DJ instead of Harvin.

Dont get me wrong, I am thrilled with the trade, we wouldnt have done it if we weren't, but those that feel Caddy is losing his job and Harvin is a bust, have not watched the last few games and are basing it only off the box score. Targets, plays, and touches show what a guy will end up with more than anything and they are getting them.

I think our team was so deep before that we had a chance to run it with the guys we had. Lloyd was one of our HUGE sleepers heading into the draft. We missed him late because we took D. Henderson. Then we got a chance to pick him up. It has really made all the difference in the world.

What do I win? Bragging rights of course. Last year we started out 0-3 after what I thought was an awesome draft (maybe the best I have ever had). Getting Mendenhall, Charles, Forsett all late to go with MJD and Pierre Thomas. Then we ran off 9 straight games. We would have won it all had the championship fallen on week 16 like it does now. This year we are still getting big plays and numbers from key guys, but MJD has been a disappointment as has DJ. Those two things need to change dramatically for us to win it all.

There are lots of great rosters in our league, and what I like about a 16 team league, is that depth really prevails. It separates the good from the mediocre and injuries take a toll more than other leagues, just like they do in real life.

I hope the trade works out to be a landslide in our favor, but like I have said before, I really wish that we traded DJ over Harvin, myself (and every "expert" I have seen) think that Harvin is in for a HUGE year now. Rice had a great week. His first of the year really. I truly hope he keeps it up. But unfortunately, he does not get to play Denver every game.

Lets place something on it. No way with Moss there now and the Bucs coaching staff saying they are going back to hard nose football that Rice outscores them dramatically. No way. I think it will be MUCH closer than people think.
 
I gotta go to work but I definitely want to do something. We will have to decide on parameters of course. I personally feel with Moss there it will be Moss, Schiancoe, AP, Harvin. So obviously I look at that as you getting the RB1 and (I can't even think of who you made the deal with) getting WR2/3. So we have to decide on what defines winning. I'll get back to you but you are on. We should do it before tonight so that I won't get scared away if Harvin goes off lol.

Sounds good, we will take it to PM's when you get back. And Harvin wont go off tonight, its the Jets D. It will take another week with Moss to get gelling.

Why did you not just keep tynes? They were playing the Texans whos secondary is terrible. Didnt tynes hit double digit points this week? lol

he had been 3 of 6 going in to the game. Hadn't put up double digits all year. Texans secondary is bad, didn't think they would hold the giants to FG's.
