2018 UST Mamiya PROFORCE V2

Very Purdy indeed!

Just got my test shaft a few minutes ago. It's absolutely georgous. I knew it would be light weight but it weighs practically nothing. Colors are nice and bright on it and a nice feeling texture to it as well. Taking it to get it tipped and I think it will get a GP New Decade MCC +4. Never tried one of these grips but anything that encourages a lighter grip can only help me so going to give it a shot I think. Can't wait to get this baby out on the range!

Looks great, still waiting for mine but it will come!!!

Nice job kicking off the thread, guys.

Very nice! Excited to get the two I'll be reviewing in soon! No clue what I'll put them in, but goodness knows there are a ton of option around here. Haha

Arrived home from golf to find a box from THP on the porch. The box had seen better days and was stamped “damaged” but fortunately the shaft was intact.

And what a beauty this is, love the white/red/yellow in the 6F4, really pops!

Wasted no time prepping the tip and getting the Cobra adapter on and it’s curing now in a nice cozy warm corner of the house. Will butt trim later today to length and get a grip on it. Tomorrow looks to be less blustery in the AM than today so great conditions for the first test drive. No range, nada - straight to tee box 1!

The yellow looks absolutely fantastic! Well done, UST!

Have some tips on order but I think I’ll pull the one off my old F6 black tie so I can get this going asap.

I want to keep it as close to my other shaft as possible and just found a brand new Callaway grip identical to what is on my current shaft. I think I will put that one on for now to compare. I have dropped it off to be tipped and matched in length to my current shaft and shoiuld have it back in a day or 2.

Just measured my Matrix shaft and it comes in at 44 1/4. Contemplating going down to 44 with the V2.

I'm going to start with mine at 45", stock in F8 is 45.5" and I think I'm playing the UST Gold Proto at 44" or slightly shorter....would rather chop off more/grip down instead of taking off too much initially.

Some shafts photograph well.

Awesome to see the test shafts are starting to get to folks. Nothing for me yet so I am figuring Monday will likely be the day.

My shaft arrived today. No need to add pictures, they are the same as what has already been posted. The graphics are toward the basic but I think they work really well. I like it. I'm virtually certain it is going to look great juxtaposed against the matte black F7+ head. I notice the shaft has texture to it. I'm curious what the purpose of that is (I don't remember it from the Coool or Elements shafts).

I just got a shipping notice from Cobra on the adapter, probably won't get the shaft out to the range until next weekend.

My Gold proto is also smooth. I remember a few years back the launch of another shaft that had some texture to it and it was part of their technology but I can't remember what line it was nor what the benefits were. Want to say it was Matrix...

Thanks got the in-hand pictures fellas, looking forward to hearing your feedback.

My wife was incorrect and the mail had not already delivered when I posted a little while ago. Just delivered and my shaft was with it. 100% chance of rain tomorrow so will get the adapter put on, cut it to length and put a grip on. Kind of torn on whether to put the Callaway or Mizuno adapter on. Center strikes with the Epic are beastly but off center I get more forgiveness with the JPX 900.

Whoop! Got mine in today as well. Just dropped off at the shop and will pick up tomorrow. If all goes well I should be able to hit the range tomorrow afternoon. Was a nice surprise getting the HL version as that is probably what I need anyway.

My initial thoughts on looks are that I really dig the graphics. The OG V2 is iconic in both feel and looks and this refresh doesn't disappoint in the looks department. The guy at the shop I took it to did a double take when he read what shaft it was. Love the bright red.

I should get mine at work on Monday. Will definitely get it tipped and gripped right away, but will need some better weather to get out on course.

These look pretty sharp in hand! The paint job is slightly textured and almost pearlescent. The graphics nearly wrap around the shaft, so there doesn't seem to be a way to go "logo down" if that's your thing. Although the V2s and the flying chevron pattern could make for a nice alignment aid if installed that way IMO.

I am thinking I will install mine this was so I am looking down at the head with this view of the shaft.

Tons of activity thus far. Great job guys.

That's probably what Tiger was thinking.

6F4 in the Nardo Grey looks sharp!

If you have a low 90’s mph swing, How does the F3 flex feel in the HL version ? Firm to flex. About right. Sloppy ?

Just finished installing the Mizuno adapter on my test shaft. Went with the JPX 900 initially over the Epic because it is a head I have much more experience with, it was the one I stated in the testing sign up thread that I would be using and the yellow on the bottom of the V2 Proforce looks freakin' bad a$$ up against the matte Mizuno blue head.

I got my F6 tip pulled off the black tie and it should be cured on the V2 by now. This morning greeted me with snow showers so I might be grabbing some sim time to begin.

The painting on this shaft is of excellent quality. There is a base coat of the white with the yellow applied on top, so for those who are doing their own work there’s a bit more work in prepping the tip.

Found that out about an hour ago. Did take a while to get to graphite which IMO shows the high quality and workmanship of the product.
