How often do you replace your wedges? How do you know when the grooves are too worn to be effective?

I have new irons, but have kept my wedges so far, but they are over 10 years old. I hadn't played a whole lot the past 8 years, but I have no idea how to tell if I should replace them too.

I was wondering the same thing the other day. Just replaced my 52 and 56 but not my 60. Also, my new wedges (titleist vokeys) seem to rust faster than any others I've had. Is this a bad or good thing?

I sharpen my grooves every six months when I check the lofts and lie angles on my clubs and adjust if need be. Keeps them fresh longer.

If you have had the same wedges for over 10 years I suggest getting some new ones regardless of wear. Technology in wedges have come a long way with improved control due to grooves and playability off various turf conditions.

I like getting new clubs, new year = new wedges. Ironically, wedges probably have the longest life of any club in my bag.

If your shots ain't looking like the tour pros then it's time for new ones.
