You can attempt to find out the owner of a website by going to site such as Whois.net. I'd like to do the opposite...find out the name of the website that a particular person owns. Any idea on how to accomplish that?

I have a very smart and wealthy relative that runs an internet business, and they are extremely secretive and vague whenever a question about their employment arises.

I'm not even sure if it's possible but figured I'd ask.

edit: I've also searched for a business license in their home state...no luck

Thanks

That was always the underlying theory but I was looking for something more than a theory. I imagine the mystery will remain just that, but I figured it couldn't hurt to post you know :)

Doing a whois search only provides information on who originally registered the domain name, it does not necessarily tell you who actually owns the site. A third party could have always registered the domain name for the person. I guess a general Google search would be your best bet with what information you have. Even attaching a phone number to the name might get you some useful info.

If they're smart their business is likely licensed in Nevada or Delaware for tax reasons. Also, the site could (most likely) be held in trust and could be named anything under the sun really. It will be very difficult, near impossible, for you to figure out if they have it structured properly.

Typos courtesy of Tapatalk, enjoy!

LOL they live in Las Vegas

Good luck. Even whois has a privacy feature for only $10 a year or something like that, so even if you found the site you might not be able to link it to a person.

Try the secretary of state website for the state of Nevada. You can probably search for registered businesses by registrant name. Unless its registered in another state - then you can search all 50 lol

Well that is pretty boring, I was hoping it was a little person escort service or something.

You need to search on the FL Secretary of State website under the name Michael Ward.
