After 3 years iv broke 70

So after taking up the game 3 years ago I have been through highs and lows!!
Last month I broke par for the first time 71!

Today I headed out for a quick 9 holes after work! When I pitched up I didn't expect much!

I birdied the 1st the 6th the 8th and the 9th! For a 4 under 33! I missed 2 fairways and 1 green on the front 9! With 13 putts!!! I hit the pin on the 8th I thought it was slam dunked!

My quick 9 changed instantly to 18 with a chance to best my low round!

Straight forward pars on 10-11-12 fairway and green in reg then 2 putts

I pulled my tee shot on 13 into the tough hacked out to left of the green hit s poor chip and 2 putted for boggey!

I pared 14-15-16-17 with on missed fairway and one missed green where I got up and down!

So I'm standing on 18 knowing that a par will give me 69!!

Tee shot was hit low on the face but was in the middle of the fairway!
160 into the wind to the of the green
I lost my 7 iron to the right now I'm getting myself a little nervous!!!
I chipped on not my Sunday best leaving 10ft down hill left to right!!

I stood over it slightly nervous made my stroke and watched it drop!

I had done it! 69 on the card!!!!!!!!
4 under 33 on the front
1 over 36 on the back

4 missed fairways
14 greens in reg
29 putts

To say I'm happy would be a huge understatement!!

Heheheh .. I've been playing for almost 30 years .. just about when graphite came about .. ug!
I've broken 70 a hand-full of times .. but to do it after 3 years? You're putting some effort into it, or ..
you're simply just a "natural" .. Congrats! :thumb:
 
Play 18 once a week the another 9 if I'm lucky!! I live right near the range!!!
Not that that helps I'm hopeless at the range!
Putting is where my scores have improved the most!
Iv got left below right and cut a belly putter down so there is plenty of weight in the head! Took 2-3 strokes off my game!!!!

In 3 years? Impressive breaking 70 any time but in 3 years? Wow!

congratulations. I don't ever plan to get that good. I would have to give up too many strokes.

Sounds amazing... Congrats. I wish I knew what my target was.
im 55 now and for the first time have a chance to play more than a few times a year. I've managed to be under 80 each round this year but can't imagine ever going under 70
you are clearly a natural...
 
Awesome to hear how it went. I have gotten as far as walking up to the Tee on 16 at Even par, but 3 over was the result--allot of that comes from knowing where you are in relation to par and the round and getting in your own way--glad to see you made it even knowing the pressure of that last hole.
