The Official Tiger Woods Thread

sometimes i like to argue just for the sake of taking a different point of view on a forum ... bit more entertaining ... while trying not to cross any lines or offend anyone's sensibilities ...

and i'm certainly not convicting elin of anything ... but strongly believe there was probably cause to arrest her for domestic violence ... notwithstanding the law that the suspect must be arrested ...

mistakes can be made ... judgement exercised appropriately or inappropriately sometimes consistent with, sometimes inconsistent with the requirements of law ...

i think it's admirable you don't assume the crime ... too many times we have a tendency to rush to judgement ... and want to see people fail or suffer ...

but if i was pressed into an opinion ... was there or wasn't there ... and with no desire for the truth to be one scenario or another ... in fact you hope for the sake of the children and even the possibility of marital reconciliation there was no crime ... i'd have to say nevertheless there was most likely an attack ...

Actually, and this may come as a surprise, I too believe Elin PROBABLY attacked, or tried to attack Tiger.

As JB, I'm a big believer in withholding judgement on someone before we know the facts, so this is pure speculation on our part.

I believe that w/ Tiger and Elin, being who they are, the thought of domestic violence probably was one of the last things a cop or a paramedic responding to the scene had on their mind as to what happened.

When the FHP got involved and started to suspect there was more to the story, they were refuted by a napping Tiger. The FHP wanted to see the hospital records for Tiger when he was first admitted on the night of the incident. The hospital refused! It would have taken a warrant to get the records, which the FHP never got. So the FHP gave out a careless driving ticket because that's all that they could prove.

Again, pure speculation on my part, but I will always believe there is something more to the story than what we know about that night.

And what if there is?

Why should that be of any consequence to anyone other than Tiger, Elin and their children?

Why would anyone else need to know?

Good point.

We DON'T need to know.

I just believe there was more to it than we know.

Believe me, I'm w/ you on that mindset that we don't need to know.

One might think the first text is just an invitation to a round of golf. He should have stopped there. Where are the romantic, loving texts? Surely a cuddly fellow like Tiger had to have sent at least a couple like: "I had a really tough day. Can't wait to see you and spoon." or "When I get there I'm going to hold you in my arms for 20 minutes and just snuggle."

The texts that have been published all seem to have the same tone.

Well, it sounds like a lot more fun than the typical twenty minutes at the motel and "See ya' next week.".:clapp:

I mean, she's a porn star for cryin' out loud.

What would you do, make popcorn and pop in a DVD? :confused2:

I realize this is a family site but whats up with number 3? I would of never of thought Tiger was into that.

Fun, huh? They don't sound that great to me, but I'm from WI.

Maybe The Way We Were?

Merged in this thread where the interview was already announced.

Tiger Woods Interview on The Golf Channel tonight at 7:30!

So is this on ESPN or TGC? As much as I hate to, I gotta watch it. Like a train wreck.

OK TGC. Kelly Tilgham.

And ESPN. Separate interviews. Both at 7:30 ET.

ESPN at 7:30pm EST is what the ticker (on ESPN) says. I don't have TGC, so not sure about it.

I really hate the fact that Tiger led off with the religion angle...."I stopped meditating?"

so what? what if he did stop meditating. Some people arent religious, some people are.

If stewart Cink said he stopped believing in God people would accept that

The only thing I call bulls--- on in either interview is when he said no one knew what was happening. Other than that one thing, I thought both interviews were good. He looked like crap, like he'd been put through the ringer.

Let's see how he acts when he returns. Hope he's changed for real.

I don't care if he meditates or not but to hide behind 'meditation' as a reason for why his life spiraled downhill is lame. I'm sure he wasn't concerned about his lack of meditation when he was with his girls...

I thought the Golf Channel interview was better than the ESPN one...not sure why exactly (interviewer?, maybe he did the ESPN one first).

I really do understand that to some people nothing he does going forward will be right or "enough", but considering the magnitude of the pubic persona we are seeing here, at least he seems to be trying (with Ari's guidance or not). It sure is easy for us to sit here and state what he should do, but if any of us were in his shoes (and I hope none us puts our families through anything close to this), we wouldn't be having to do this in the public eye.

Now, I am by no means a strongly religious person, but I know better than to begrudge others for using whatever their belief system is as a source of strength if/when they need to. He is nowhere near the first person with who's morals have left them until they realize their hurting others.

Anyway, to me, I'll start believing that the man is serious about improving himself if his on-course behavior improves.

Anyway, my opinion...flame away :act-up:

It not all his affairs that bothers me cuz most men cheat on their wives but its all those stories how he he's really cheap and stiffs waiters on the tips. Lots of hard working folks work hard as waiters and he should know that their only income is their tips as most work for 2.35 an hour and the money they make is their tips. Pete Sampras also does the same. Shame on their cheapness.

I saw the Tiger South Park last night. I thought it was great.

I hope this isn’t true but maybe it is.

I just had a mental image of Tiger hitting on Kelly as soon as the cameras went dead after the interview. Just based on my life experience, there is no cure for sex addiction. It is more addicting than herion and just almost incurable.
