As my golf swing has taken shape and become somewhat consistent over the past few months, my club head speed has increased from 90 to 105. As best as I can tell, I'm not swinging the club any harder, but I have managed to keep my hips from releasing too soon and get a good weight transfer. Not bad for an old codger, I'm told, but it really hasn't had that much of a noticeable impact on my drive distance, which remains at an average of 238 (carry). I'm told that the next step is to go from the regular flex shaft I'm using to a stiff flex. I don't know that much about it, so I am relying on my instructor's knowledge and word.
If you have good knowledge about shaft selections I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
