Not so in LA.
For those interested in travel, Phoenix is usually very affordable for flights in our testing from many places across the US.
If you can one stop to any airport reasonably close, the next flight will be short and cheap. Another sweet venue and another affordable trip option - exciting!
True story. I went to Phoenix/Scottsdale on a golf trip around 2010 for five days. On day 1 we played a nice course in Fountain Hills--nothing spectacular, but nice. That first night, I became seriously ill with heat exhaustion, and spent the next two days in the recovery capsule, unable to leave the room. Thankfully, I recovered by the fourth day, because we played We-Ko-Pa those last two days and both courses were phenomenal. (I personally thought they were better than Grayhawk). Moral of the story--HYDRATE like you've never done before. I drank a litre of water every three holes and it wasn't enough! Second moral (for me)--DON'T plan a golf trip to AZ in August!
This is so damn true. One second you're feeling fine in the AZ heat, the next, you start fighting heat stroke. Last time I played in AZ in the summer, the roving cart person forced you to take extra water along with whatever you purchased.
