Same boat as you brother. No idea what shaft I want though, that's the big ponder.GBB 3w. This needs to happen soon.

Yeah, it's just brutally expensive. I feel a little bad for contemplating going elsewhere for the gear in the future, since it was a great experience and I really liked Andy and Ryan, but TBCH that quote prices me right out of their market lol. Plus I paid the fitting fee so I don't feel TOO bad!
My thoughts exactly. They're not cheap shafts to begin with, but they're not THAT expensive haha

No joke. I fully intend on tracking a set down, but not at that PP.It's tough with the recoil protos. I think they are awesome, but that is an incredible price for them.
Also, 600 for two hybos? That's tough!
No joke. I fully intend on tracking a set down, but not at that PP.
And yeah, 600 isn't even the whole story - that doesn't even take into account the 2 Accra shafts at 560! It's actually nearly 1200 for two hybos! :bulgy-eyes:
That is insane it was the same way at club champion when I went a few years ago as well. It was a huge shell shock to me. I think the thing that is the most interesting is when they fit you into a no upcharge option in a head but because they only do components you have a huge upcharge. No joke. I fully intend on tracking a set down, but not at that PP.

I think I need to ponder one of these Heavenwoods as well....I got my cousin to ponder a Heavenwood today. :bananadance:
I never thought to ask, like an idiot! But I suspect that it would still be very expensive, even if you were fit into cheaper options - kinda like lightningbolt says above, since they're doing everything component based and building to tight specs, there is a significant price premium. They wanted 135/head for the 850F's and 299/head for the M1 hybos, which I believe is more than the retail price of each club off the shelf with shaft.Yikes. That's a big upcharge.
I wonder if you can do fittings at that location that stay within certain dollar amounts..
It's my understanding that they also hotmelt heads when applicable. Could be why they upcharge. They also find the perfect swingweight(s) too.I never thought to ask, like an idiot! But I suspect that it would still be very expensive, even if you were fit into cheaper options - kinda like lightningbolt says above, since they're doing everything component based and building to tight specs, there is a significant price premium. That would be called price gouging in any other realm except golfing and luxury items.I never thought to ask, like an idiot! But I suspect that it would still be very expensive, even if you were fit into cheaper options - kinda like lightningbolt says above, since they're doing everything component based and building to tight specs, there is a significant price premium. Getting properly fit is definitely a plus to your game and enjoyment. Getting ripped off. Is always hard to swallow. It would be hard prove or provide any support that this excessive up charge would actually improve your game or score.I never thought to ask, like an idiot! But I suspect that it would still be very expensive, even if you were fit into cheaper options - kinda like lightningbolt says above, since they're doing everything component based and building to tight specs, there is a significant price premium. It's the whole I paid more so it must be better.
But a local quality fitter can fit you better for less and make adjustments down the road cheaply if your swing or game demands.

No worries. You got the clubs that will make you happy.I see where you're coming from on some of this, but can't say I fully agree for a few reasons:
1) Component pricing is different than off the shelf pricing - especially if hot melt is applied like BigCountryStein mentioned.
2) I would argue that Modern fitted me better and more accurately than any smaller fitter I've been to, due to all the tech they have access to. And as to the cheap adjustments - they adjusted all my lie angle for free as part of the fitting fee.
I agree that a set like MG quoted to me is pretty much overkill, but you're not paying more just to pay more if you buy clubs there - you're paying for a really precise build. Calling it price gouging is a little oversimplified, IMO.

Just throwing my two cents out there.
I have a local fitter that keeps my gear tuned to my specs. For what I consider reasonable price and quality results.
But then your situation my be different.

Can't be more than about quarter inch. As far as playing length with head installed, I believe it's additional 1.25 inchA Tour AD BB shaft for my driver.... Does anyone know how much a Callaway COG tip adds to the length of a shaft?

Solid ponder.Iron ponder of the day: Wilson F5's.
Still pondering a full bag fitting... Going to have to recover some from the holidays before I start on that though!
That's without the quoted shafts apparently - another $559 for a total of roughly $1160 for 2 hybridsThe almost $600 hybrids is crazy as well.
I can confirm this. Added 1.25 when I did the club work on my Black Tie/XR ProCan't be more than about quarter inch. As far as playing length with head installed, I believe it's additional 1.25 inch
