Hybrid should be here next week! This is the first time I have had an almost all matching bag. The cobra offerings are just so solid this year.

Solid round today with the King forged Tec irons. Really starting to get them dialed in. Stuck two shots on par 3's within 5 feet for birdie. The ball was 6 inches from its Pitch mark. I know a lot has to do with the ball but the irons are not disappointing.

I'm really glad to hear that! It makes me really excited for the next couple of months to pass to get these in real conditions. Winter sucks!

Staring at those beauties must be torture

Just gonna leave this here as a reminder of how good these irons look in the bag

The definitely look great, X.Man!

I posted in the cf16 thread earlier this week about my iron testing. That was my front runner over the 850f and VPC's until today. I spent a lot of time with the King Forged Tec today and absolutely loved them. I also tested the XR Pro today, a little more with the 850f, VPC and cf16.

After the first shot with the KFT I knew there was something about them I really liked. The feel and the sound were great. I was continually finding the centre of the face. The XR Pro surprised me quite a bit as well. It came close to the KFT but not quite as good.

The distances were pretty similar between the cf16, 850f, xr pro and KFT. What really set apart the KFT from the others was the dispersion for me. It blew the others away. I was surprised with the stock setup working so well for me. Unfortunately I'm not able to try any other shafts with the cobra as the store does not have that head with interchangeable shafts. The XR pro stock shaft was too light for me and the VPC stock shaft was to heavy for me. I seem to be liking shafts in the range of the 100-110g. I tried the XP 95,105 and 115 and they all felt pretty good. Would have to give the sight nod to the 105. One shaft I haven't tried yet is the PXI 6.0. I think either the cally or mizzy cart might have the pxi range to test.

Here were my numbers (tested with 6 and c-taper lite):
AVG clubhead speed - 88.2
AVG ball speed - 119.60
AVG Smash Factor - 1.36
Tot Distance AVG - 177.60
Tot Carry AVG - 167.20
AVG Dev - 9.38
AVG launch - 19.26
AVG backspin - 5423
AVG sidespin - 365

I guess if anything could be improved the launch could be down a little and the spin slightly up. That might get the role out down a bit. What do you guys think? Any shafts come to mind that might accomplish this? There was tape over the face for the KFT, since it was off the shelf, so I'm not sure if the would impact the spin at all.

Overall it was a good day of testing. I think I will head back again and go head to head between the KFT, cf16 and xr pro once more. Those cobra's are calling my name though.

I got some time with this in the simulator today and wanted to give a little feedback. Just like last time, the distance I get from these is outstanding. Again I attribute that to the strong lofts but I'm still seeing great ball flight. The one thing I noticed today is that on toe misses it is a much harsher feel than I got from my J40DPC's. However, the distance loss is not significant and is a big improvement over my last irons. Toe shots that normally would have been 10-15 yards short before were probably 5-10 and I even had a couple that I thought were terrible strikes that ended pin high. So far I'm liking what I see but the real test will come in a couple months when I can get outside.

This thread needs some of the black clubs too.

They're beautiful. Someday I'll have the game for them.
I'm not sure I ever will, but I looooove how they look and feel. Total vanity purchase and I'm ok with that.

Those are bad*ss looking. Too much club and not enough game from me but great looking.

If the Forged Tec irons had the same black finish as the MB/CB set, I'd be in big trouble. One of the only things holding me back from buying those blades is, well, that they're blades.

I keep coming back to the thread for club porn. Love the MB/CB (I'd go with a full set of CB) - black finished irons - yes, please. I find myself more drawn to the Forged Tec irons. Those are really the first Cobra irons, since the Carbon CB, that I look at and think, "Yeah, I could see playing a lot of rounds with those."

That's true of me for every set of blades haha. Always so sexy, but I suck so much! :act-up:

These clubs are so sessy. I would love the MB/CB set.

The cb/mbs look awesome. I love the black finish on my current Adams cb1 irons. These with the black and orange may get me to switch though.

I personally much prefer the chrome finish that's available on the CB/MB combos. I dream of gaming those and stripping all the paint. That would be AMAZING looking set of irons....

....Then I wake up and realize I don't have the game for them and all hope is lost!

13 clubs? Curious of your reasoning for it.

I game 13 too. I've dropped the 4 iron from this setup. It just works. My 2-3hybo is 16 degree and my 3-4hybo is 21.5

why not add a fairway wood? or another wedge? that would drive me crazy not having 14 clubs lol

I can't hit a lob wedge consistently.

I also can't hit a 3W off the deck consistently, but the 3-4 lofted all the way up seems to be not bad, and worst case it's a shorter tee club.

My previous bag had 11. Apex 6i is as long as the Cobra 5i so I was carrying Dr, 5W, 6i-PW, 52*, 56*, Pu.

I may be going back up to 14 clubs though with a 54* and 58* replacing the 56* wedge. Depends how long it takes Cobra to come out with black versions of the King wedges.
