And me! I'll be there. Going to post some hotels in a bit. Just trying to finish watching the 2nd round of the McGladery first.

I'm TBD depending on course, price, etc. Wake me up when more details are firmed up....
 
Who would be able to do an overnight? What price range for hotel? Not sure who would want want for a hotel. I know I look on choice hotels website and found an econo lodge for 45 a night, a sleep in for 68 a night.
 
Just looking to see there is any new news on this. Anything definite yet? Course? Location? Time? Bueller?

Ddec, I'll probably look to stay Friday night. I'll hit priceline once we lock down location.

I like the looks of Mountain Laurel and Sand Springs. Though those 2 are about 30 miles south of Scranton

we are targeting next weekend..the 23rd,24th
 
OK everyone let's get this buckled down for the weekend of October 23 and 24th

There were two courses I called today who had space and seemed interested in having a group of folks come and play their course (would get us tee times back to back, seemed like they were excited to have a group of folks from all over meet up and play, had a bar/grille for after round hanging)

Mountain Laurel (http://www.mountainlaurelgolfclub.com/index.php) is $30 for 18 w cart
Four Seasons (http://www.fourseasonsgolfclubnepa.com/) is $20 for 18 w cart

Stone Meadows (http://www.stonemeadowsgolf.com) is $30 for 18 w cart but the folks weren't friendly on the phone even though the course looks interesting.

I am going to say let's play Mountain Laurel on Sat and for those who are around on Sunday, play Four Seasons or if you want to figure out as a group where to play, feel free (I'm only going to be able to play on Saturday :sad: as I have to leave on Sunday for a business trip)

Sat tee times should be late morning (11am) to early afternoon (1pm) to allow those who are just coming for Saturday to drive up/over (White Haven is about 3 hours from me, 3 hours from Delaware, 3 hours from Syracuse, 2 hours from Philly) and for us to get done before dark and still enjoy a dinner together at the Bar/Grille.

Sunday should be early to allow a round and folks to get home.

Here are the hotels that have good rates, a bar/grille located either on premise or right next door that look good:

Econo Lodge Wilkes Barre (http://tinyurl.com/2bebobx) $70 a night Restaurants next door
Quality Inn Wilkes Barre (http://tinyurl.com/2fc5f3l) $70 a night and TGI Friday right on site
Sleep Inn Scranton (http://tinyurl.com/25my4rc) $75 a night and Loading Dock Bar and Grille next door

I will be happy to make tee times for everyone on Saturday. Green Fees will be paid by each of us as we arrive at the course. I will let those who are staying over and playing Sunday figure out who and when and where to make tee times.

I just need to know who is playing on Saturday.

I'll go with the group with this one. I'll also be only playing Saturday as I will be hitting the road post dinner so I can be in the Philly area by curfew. :D
 
I'd like to add Stone Meadow back for consideration. The head pro called me back this morning after I sent an email to him about his rude person who answered the phone. He apologized profusely and said that the person was just filling in and didn't know anything. He would LOVE to have us come and play and it is $20 for 18 including the cart

So, here are the three choices for courses:

I know its a one day thing for me because I have to be on an airplane at 10am on Sunday and I know for Spank it will be a 1 day thing. Would that be ok for you guys?

Saturday round of golf? late morning 18, hang out for a bit after?

Golf4Life PMed me and said he was pretty sure he could make it and Hanks was a probably not but maybe last minute. So, probably 5 and maybe 6. Should be nice little round of golf regardless!
 
I'm out. The 23rd is my niece's 1st birthday and I just can't miss that.

Hope everyone who goes has a great time and if something like this gets planned for Spring '11, I'd more than likely be in- only birthday I have to worry about in March/April is my own.
 
Are we still only a foursome?

I just checked the weather and it is suppose to be REALLY nice (i.e. Low 60s, plenty of sunshine) and the guys at Stone Mountain said the leaves will be peaking this weekend....

If we are a foursome, that is fine. We'll have a good time, I'm sure and you guys can all laugh at me playing from the forward tees AND you guys all better CLEAR the foreward tees otherwise I'm going to be doing the laughing....

Did we decide on a course for Saturday? Need the info ASAP so I can negotiate my motel with Captain Kirk.
