I started playing golf in my teens with an old set of Spalding irons (bladed, circa 1960's - 1970's) from my grandfather. I used steel wool to clean the heads and put new grips on them myself. I had always loved watching the game and fell in love with the challenge of playing the game. After a couple decades of telling myself I could figure out how to swing on my own I finally went for lessons. After almost 3 years of work I got rid of my cupped wrists and horrible push slice. Even still, my driver remains my nemesis club. It often gets me in trouble. Over the last 7 years my wife and I were blessed with 3 kids (girl, boy, girl). My oldest daughter (6) loves to compete at putting with me and has a Walter Hagan junior set of clubs. She is very interested in golf and we have daddy-daughter dates at the driving range and mini golf course. I don't get to play or hit the range quite as much as I would like but it's just that busy season with young kids. I'm looking forward to seeing if they have the passion for golf that I do and am looking forward to the day we all go out and play together!
