… for the house that is. The house collected $66.5 billion from the gamblers in 2023. A US record.

I am not surprised in the least. I haven't been to the casinos here in about 5 years but used to go about once a month and every time I went down there the place was packed with people who look like they shouldn't be gambling are playing $100/hand. Its crazy

It was great for me. I turned a bunch of Ohio first time gambler bonuses into over 1k of 'free money'.

Which helped buy me Mizuno MP 243's. Thanks, Draftkings and Fanduel.

Yeah doesn't surprise me in the least.

Well that's good for them I guess.

Yeah because IPHONE betting is incredibly easy, and the changes from 2 years ago to today is a very different model.

One thing my buddy has been calling out is how the NBA has been changing stats (assists, rebounds etc), and looks to be clear collusion (in his eyes). Multiple channels supporting this.

I know the KC/Miami playoff game created tons of controversy regarding Tua passing for 200+ yards, and it stood at 199. This was a super boost on FD. Now I actually stood with the casino on this. Tua had I believe 78 yards passing with 7 minutes remaining. KC fumbled the ball with like 1:30 remaining, allowing Tua to potentially get the +200. Honestly for me that was the biggest sucker bet of that weekend. Considering the temperature at game time, and Miami's history of playing in sub 40 degree weather, was a hard no for me. (It could be said it was 70 to 80 degrees colder at times during the game) So people making that bet and investing who knows how much (I dont think there was a cap on the boost) well thats just plain on you. Was there potential for one more yard on the last passing play from Tua. Yes I can see it, but the way they played the entire game and a fluke fumble when KC should have been sitting on it, he should have never even been that close to begin with. Zero collusion that game.

Who is colluding with who? The house always wins because they try to get the same amount of money on each side of a bet which is why the lines move. I doubt the players are cheating or throwing games.

True NBA advanced stats (the official stat tracking for NBA) are constantly changing. Not talking players, I am talking about stats that are being reported, and the Casino's that are using those numbers to pay or not pay on bets.

For example, a few games back Jokic was 25, 13, and 9. He clearly had another assist, and they just refused to acknowledge it. If I remember correctly it was a bounce pass to AG for a slam dunk.

Impossible. Every gambler I know "always wins".

I won my fantasy football league and didn't gamble on anything else.

Expect an upcoming book from me on how to beat the house at gambling.

Fantasy football to me isn’t gambling. The entry is to keep everyone honest and trying their best.
I like your book idea lol

When I went to Vegas in late 2022, the table minimums were insane on the strip. I'm not a big gambler to begin with, but it shocked me to see people gladly dropping 25-50 a hand.

Do you think this is something that has always happened but nobody paid any attention because they weren’t gambling and now it’s just spring up to their awareness? I’ve been a fantasy football league manager for 22 years now and they change stats all the time within 30 minutes of the game after review.

Just a if a tree falls in the forest and there’s no one around to hear it kind of thing?

I’ve always had a lot of friends betting on sports and I don’t think any of them do anything but lose money. It blows my mind as to why they keep at it. It’s nice to have an excuse other than that they’re just losers as far as gambling goes.

Yeah I think so. He backed off a ton because of these odd issues he would encounter. Not saying it was targeting him, but he is really good at making bets, and smart with his money. I know for a fact he is still playing with his original bankroll on both FD and DK, and we were communicating daily for at least two years regarding bets up until the NFL playoffs and he just was like nope, seeing too much fishy stuff. Only person I know that is capped. 5 dollars max bet. Oh and they were trying to fish him on Thursday. DK had a bet pick a player who will score first 3pointer. If he does not you get .50 cents per 3pointer for entire game. I hit the player, he did not even play it because the MINIMUM bet he could place was 50 dollars. WTF!! Basically they don’t want him betting. Snapshot of convo.

I'm not surprised. I freaking hate gambling though, so this feels like a personal win hahaha
I made a smart bet a couple years ago based on this article. I bought DraftKings stock for my IRA. If you can’t beat em’ join me’ right?

If you read the thread before you posted this you would see Tuscon responded to my post and I thanked him for it.
