Seriously thinking of getting an Ooma Telo and Handset...
Anyone out there currently using one?? or tossed theirs in the garbage??

Same here clay. I'm a tech rutarde' though.
 
I heard they have an 18% surcharge on all local calls. Not my cup of tea.

ok...for those without internet access...lol...Ooma is a VOIP service (like Vonage) but seems to have a lot more going for it...
I am tired of paying about $30 per month to have a land line I hardly use...
so..I plan on paying about $250 up front for the base unit and wireless handset, and then pay about $3/month after that for better service than my Cable company gives me now.
Should take about 8 months to break even.....

I have the Ooma and it works great. I've had it for almost 2 years now and never had any problems. Sound quality is great, and it has voicemail, call forwarding, caller ID, etc. I paid about 200 bucks for it, and that's all I've ever paid. All local and long distance in this country is no charge. They also ported over my land line number.
