I got one of each which works well. Love having a boy and a girl because I can always say "You are my favorite son" or "You are my favorite daughter" wihtout lying.

I can happily contribute to this thread: Jake is a great son and he will pass me in height by next year. He is almost 5’10” and loves playing basketball and football. Does great in school too. Couldn’t ask for a better son!

I just use "favorite older son" and "favorite younger son". Works great, too.

My son is 18, just graduated high school early, and doesn't like to take pictures with me anymore, because it's lame!
That’s funny because my boy is 13 and clearly in the: “not so cool to hug your dad or take a pic with him as much as he used to age range” as well
