Cake vs Pie?

Pie for me. Between the type of filling and the crust (when baked properly) a pie will always be better than cake for me. Plus I am not a big icing person.
 
Bread Pudding (not sure what you’d classify that as)
Ice cream cake
Cookie cake (yes it still rules in my 40s)
Key lime pie

But why choose? All so good... except fruitcake ...:sick:
 
I'm not a big cake fan, so pie all the way for me. Not much beats pumpkin pie.

1. Pumpkin
2. Pecan pie
3. Cherry crumb
4. Apple

I can eat all of those pies anytime if the year, not just holidays. I only eat cake at little kids birthday parties.

CheesePie? Sounds pretty gross.

Shocked at all the cake responses after a pretty brief skim. It must be the apocalypse if cake even stands a chance. Maybe people forget you can throw in pot pie? Beef cake? Hard pass. Beef pot pie? Yes please.
 
Is both an option? If I had to choose just one I think I'll go with pie
 
Cake, so long as it doesn't have that fake "whipped" icing on it. Go buttercream, or don't go at all.

It's hard to pass up a good apple, pumpkin, strawberry, or pecan pie, though.

Love me some Cakes. Not sure why maybe the taste and larger
 
Pie with the caveat that it has to be homemade fruit pie.

if its not HOMEMADE and FRUIT......then its cake. But given the choice between both under these terms its PIE every single time.

Pie by a million. I feel like I could someone a budget 10 times my necessary pie budget and I would get a better pie every time.

The question for me is it depends on what kind of cake or pie.
If it was sugary wedding cake vs apple pie I’m taking apple pie.
If it’s German chocolate cake vs cherry pie I’m taking German chocolate cake.
I like both cake and pie.
 
Cake, as long as it's chocolate with chocolate everything and more chocolate on top with chocolate in between. But I won't turn down a chocolate silk, cherry or peach pie either.

All depends on the cake but if I have a choice, I will take Apple Crumb with a big scoop vanilla ice cream

All of those please.
 
I am good with either. However, Key Lime and Pecan pie are my favorites.
