I hear you man. Big thanks for sticking your head in the thread and chiming in. Please continue to do so, and if there's anything in particular you'd like info on let me know. While I waited for my unit I did see some others comment both positive and negative thoughts. I guess the most honest approach for me is to focus on my experience with the unit and provide the most accurate account I can. I'd still advise anyone interested to perform as much research as possible; $2k is a big chunk of change. My thoughts may come off as overly positive, but my experience since receiving it has been a good one so far.@obedt you're doing (Golf) God's work here. More often than not, people run into issues with Flightscope product accuracy, regardless of price point. Heck, I have a buddy who waited MONTHS for his Mevo+ and Flightscope customer service wouldn't even update him.
As they say, there are two sides to every story, so the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Will be following along.
My $.02, for what they're worth. If you're only looking for a simulator, I'd view all options. The Mevo+ is capable of it, but imho one of the real stengths of the unit is the ability to take it outside. I'm anxious to get it out on the range for example. I haven't made a full post on simulation but will in the future once I really get into it. Quick synopys - full swings besides driver appear to be very accurate. Short game is a bit of a guessing game for me.Great work obedt. Looking forward to seeing the updates. I'm on the fence about getting a simulator and the mevo+ has my attention.

I really liked it at the range. You've realized setup is everything, but personally, at the range the key is to not make it more complicated than need be. I found to get the best readings it was easiest to bring something flat to set it on, get it set up well, and then work the divot pattern in sort of a quarter circle, rotating the mevo with it. You can work front to back a little, but you still end up having to rotate or end up realigning. Like anything it got easier the more we did it. Hope you get out there soon.Quick bump on this. Unfortunately haven't used it as much as I'd like. Did have a good sim round last weekend where numbers and results seemed to be close to what I'd expect on course.
Tried a gapping session, and there were a few issues with spin reads on one club (5i), but otherwise seemed about right. Really comes down to having setup good imho, and you can get good results from it. Unfortunately our ranges are closed and that's one place I really want to put this through its paces.
Thanks my man! Hope everything is good on your end! Happy belated New Year!Obed!!!
Just got up on this - freaking outstanding job reviewing the Mevo+
the posts and updates are much appreciated!!!
$2,000 ppt prices me out of it though
@obedt how has the mevo+ been working for you lately?
I know they have released a couple firmware updates since your last post.

I think it's a solid unit man. The big thing is having the setup right imo. SkyTrak is much less dependent on setup. IMO if you have that part of it no problem, and are fine overlooking putting difficulty for what I believe to be a more accurate unit, then it makes sense to go this route.@obedt you still enjoying the Mevo+? I'm still in ponder mode but days like this when there is snow on the ground it amps up getting something.
@obedt
Saw this thread late, but it was really interesting! Appreciate all info you've given.
Do you still see lower driver club head speed in net vs. on range/course?
I go to a golf simulator place with Trackman, and I also see lower club head speed compared to what I saw on the Trackman outdoors at the driving range last summer.
(I was about 93-95 mph outdoors on the range, and 85-88 indoors.)
Maybe "indoor swing syndrome"...
Anyway, great work! And now I know what gadget to put on my wish list
Thanks my man! Hope everything is good on your end! Happy belated New Year!
Hey man! Hope everything is going well! A lot of the updates have had to do with putting which honestly I haven't even tried. It seems the unit is really hit or miss there. For me, I did notice a difference in that I was able to get driver into a net to be accurate. I moved back to 11-12' of ball flight, made sure the ball had a dot. The FS golf will italicize an estimated spin number (which is usually 800+ RPM higher than reality). Once I made those changes the app started showing measured spin which were in the mid 2000s, along where I would expect. Distance started hitting the numbers I expected. Played a sim round like this and it made a world of difference.

I think spin is fairly similar now, as long as it's measured, whether it be outdoors or in. If the unit isn't able to measure indoors for whatever reason, then it shoots up and becomes a distance killer. My SS is close to spot on yours fwiw.
I honestly think this has been more me than the unit. The gap is closing. My last sessions with it on FS golf were late December-early January and swing speed was topping out at 93, usually low 90s. I think the Mevo+ reads club head speed a cpl mph fast, andhave topped out at 95 mph with it on the range. I don't think I swing quite that fast (average?)Thanks for the heads-up! Does the driver swing speed still differ "outdoors" vs. "indoors"?
