After seeing a post somewhere, it started a conversation here at work so I wanted to see what the popular opinion was.
A guy claimed he was playing in a "40+ mph wind". On a par 5 measuring 585 yards playing downwind, he claims he had less than 200 yards left for his second shot. Never said how this distance was measured(whether it was GPS reading or estimated from the Scorecard). Also said he was playing bad that day.
So my question is, how likely is that an average golfer could hit a 385+ yard drive with a 40 mph wind behind them.
