10 days shy of his 101st birthday, Masters Champion Jackie Burke passed away today.

Came back from 8 strokes back in the final round to beat Ken Venturi!

Dang. What a legend. Especially around here.

I don’t want to live that long. Wow..

Legend. RIP.

1956 winner of the Masters and PGA. Man think of the stories and the evolution of the game he saw in his 100 years. RIP.

Made it to 100. RIP Mr Burke

What a great and long life. RIP Jackie.

RIP Jackie Burke.

Legend.

That's quite the long life, RIP Sir!

The interview the Golf Channel did yesterday with Hal Sutton was really cool. Especially the last story Hal told about a 10 AM tee time Jackie made for the two of them when Hal had stepped away from the game for a year while building his ranch. The story told the story of the true man and what he meant to many.

Don't have GC any longer, don't miss it either, so missed Sutton story, damn, but there is another good story about Sutton and Burke something like this as memory serves.

Sutton, prior to going on tour, and Burke were on a patio deck talking golf when Sutton asked Jackie what he should expect on tour. Jackie suddenly forcefully pushed Hal off the deck. Surprised, Sutton asked Jackie why he did that and Jackie said on tour everyone will be trying to push you every which way off your spot. lol...
