I don't really consider this a review by the community standards but I wanted to put graphite shafts into my new Vokey SM8 wedges. (52,56,60) So I went with thePaderson Kinetixx regular flex 115g.

I ordered the shafts from Golf Works along with all the other supplies needed to reshaft. The process seemed simple after watching a few McGolf videos.

Before putting in my new shafts I hit all three wedges on GCQuad and my spin rate was as follows. Note these were 3/4 shots as I never full swing my wedges. I have a 48* approach wedge that I use for shots inside 100 yards.

Vokey SM8
52-08F
56-12D
60-10S

Ball used Pro V1

3/4 shot RPM with stock shafts
52 - 6700 rpm average
56 - 7100 rpm average
60 - 7300 rpm average
(Rounded to nearest 50)

3/4 shot RPM with Paderson Kinetixx
52 - 7100 rpm
56 - 7550 rpm
60 - 7700 rpm
(Rounded to nearest 50)

The gains were great but I think feel may have had a lot to do with it.

The swing weights dropped 2 numbers.
52 - D3 to D1
56 - D5 to D3
60 - D5 to D3

The stock shafts had weights installed into the shafts but I dry fit all the new builds before epoxy and didn't feel the need/want to add weight. Now the 52 is the same swing weight as my irons and I feel confident enough to hit it as a full shot club rather than just the normal long 60 yd pitch.

This was my first time building a club and I'd say it turned out great. Also these wedge shafts are nothing short of great especially in the feel department.

All blacked out looks nice. Which weight did you get? Does the shaft still have the bubble towards the tip like the older styles?

Good stuff! I’ve got a set waiting for when my Edel’s arrive, I’m pretty eager to put them to work myself.

I need to include that in the post oops! I got the Regular flex 115g shafts. I didn't notice a bubble.

Their is no more satisfying element than playing what you built

Congrats!

Congrats!

Thank you! They felt great...could be a honeymoon period but regardless.

The waiting for heads to put these in is flat out killing me!

My 52 degree is now a absolute weapon on the course. Inside of 100 yards is INSANE shooting on the green. Absolute spin monster with a full swing. It has me wanting to replace my 48 degree with a Vokey and this shaft.

56 and 60 have insanely better feel and zip back about 2 foot with a 3/4 swing.

Need to get my SMS stamping done this weekend so I can install these!

I’ve been lazy. 😕

@JB are these just the new graphics of the wedge shafts you like so much?

Good question and I believe so. My wedge shaft is their previous neon yellow.
Yeah, I remembered the color, I wonder if this paint move is a way to appeal to more golfers? Not as bright?

It might be. Its such a fine line to have something get noticed and something blend in.

Yup, it’s that insane balance of getting attention and not just fading into the already crowded market.

@JB

Should I put these in T22, or SMS.

SMS as it’s an option there and it’s been tested with good results
Well this ish is going down TONIGHT then!

Interesting. I need to read more up on these.

The whole TS series is great. I have FW, Hybrid, Iron, Wedge in play right now. Could honestly see playing this series in every club, which probably hasn't happened since my first box set 😂

Played these one more time in my SMS yesterday before pulling them and, man, I’ve never played a shaft that felt so stiff, boardy, and non active before. Eliminated pretty much all feel from my short game, moved back to my other set and it all came back.

They’re just super stout. Too much so for me.
