The Car Appreciation Thread - Let's Talk Cars

I've always wanted to go there. Though any afternoon here in Monaco is usually good for pony watching.
I hear ya but people drive non Ferrari's and fill the adjacent parking lots. There's really nothing like it. My one GTB was a Platinum award winner at Cavallino....By previous owner. Ha

Here's another one that by all accounts probably isn't a great car. It's under powered and may not be comfortable but man are they just cool looking.

They were utter ****! But yeah, pretty cool after a cameo appearance in a certain film a while back.

Really like this cool gray Subaru Crosstrek color. The Toyota RAV4 has a similar green color.

Very sad news today

That’s the predicament many auto buyers and dealers find themselves in as they follow the saga of the Felicity Ace, a 650-foot cargo ship loaded with 3,965 vehicles that caught fire Wednesday on its way to the Port of Davisville in North Kingstown, R.I. Crew members were rescued after the blaze of unknown origin broke out, but the fate of the cars ― including Audis, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and nearly 200 Bentleys, according to the shipping company ― remains unknown.

Sad? Apparently the ship is up for grabs due to maritime law. Anyone got a boat I can borrow?

And up goes the price of top shelf VWs...

The 1960’s E Type have been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. I’ll likely never buy one as they are damn expensive but if I ever do buy a 2 seat drop again, the the F-Type is near the top of my list as the value for a low mileage used one is definitely there at under $45k.

And if I got permission from my better half to do something really stupid like buy a brand new sports car, it would likely be a 718 Spyder. I’ll probably do something even dumber and buy a new boat in a couple of years. :)

Right but nobody ever says check out my top shelf VW Huracan. 🤷‍♂️
I once borrowed a friends Aventador for a night out with a friend from out of town. I met a girl at a restaurant bar who asked what I drove (pretty common in LA) - I told her I drove a Volkswagen - guess who didn't get suckered into buying her any drinks that night? That's right... this guy. :ROFLMAO:

I bought this as an apprentice, 1988 Ford RS Turbo, 1.6l pinto 4 cylinder, Garrett T3 turbo, east/west layout so when boost hit and you weren't ready you break a wrist with the hard left torque steer :ROFLMAO:

Mine had a double spoiler.

Saw a Polestar 2 today, first time.
Man, what a beautiful car.
Said he went to Detroit from Chicago to get it.

Polestar is an electric luxury performance car brand owned by Chinese firm Geely. Its roots are in motorsport - building and racing Volvo touring cars. It's now a separate EV performance brand from Volvo.

The first production car it produced was the Polestar 1, which is a luxurious plug-in hybrid built in small numbers. Its pure-electric Polestar 2 will be the one to watch because it's much cheaper to buy and will take on Tesla's Model 3 directly. At some point a pure-electric Polestar 3 will arrive in SUV form, too, taking on Telsa's Model Y.

Polestars look a lot like Volvos inside and out, which is no surprise and actually not a bad thing at all. Tesla has often been criticised for its interior quality given how much they cost, but Polestar is proving that it can be done. Polestar also has the battery tech to ensure comparable electric ranges

Sat in one of these a very long time ago, cruised around the neighborhood, crazy how violent and close the engine is even idling.

Diablo was sort of forgotten in recent years, happy to see it making a comeback in popularity. Loved it as a kid!

Friday was Enzo Ferrari’s birthday so the local club had a good turnout.

Not normally a Ferrari guy but Bob Ingram showed up.

A buddy of mine bought a Saphire Cosworth at about 21 years old. I dread to think what the insurance must have been on that thing In the early 90’s.
I still remember the day my old man came home with one of these! I bloody loved that car! It’s funny how Ford is an American company, yet over here, people had to live with most of the ****, whilst we got all the good stuff LOL.
