The Wife Made Me Do It

Welcome! You may want to see a physical therapist who specializes in golf to see it there is swing that will accommodate your balance issues.
I completely redid my swing two years ago when I started playing as an older adult.
I had a stroke 25 years ago but after twenty years of rehab I'd gotten enough balance to comfortable on a ladder again!
Then I discovered that there are short courses where I could reasonably reach the green in two strokes!
I started with rotational swing that reduces the need for balance. It also didn't bother my back any!
Two months ago I got my first birdie! I've gotten a few more since then.
Thanks. I have most of my balance returned to me. The lingering effect is if I turn my head to the right - the world moves to the left. Been to all the physical therapy I can eat. The specialist said I'm not going to get any better at this point. I do not notice a balance issue while golfing. I've learned to live with it - but it essentially killed my cycling career. Stepping up is sometimes and issue as well. Stroke survivor too - tax day 2011.

Welcome! Sounds like you and your wife are having fun with this silly game which is all that matters.

Welcome to THP and picking the game back up!!!

Welcome to the forum. I love that you get out there with your wife.

I have family in Johnson City...beautiful area. A few years ago during my visit I took a detour to Fairfield Glade. Some great golf courses there.

Good luck with your game and welcome to THP.

Welcome to THP! I’m over in Nashville. We’ll have to do a meetup in the middle in Crossville in the spring (or sooner if we get a nice day).

The wife and I just played at Lake Tansi a couple of weeks ago for my birthday. In Nashville, I played Two Rivers one day last fall while waiting for my mother's plane to arrive at BNA. Both courses seemed nice enough.

Let me know if you're ever going to be in Nashville (or the general area). Happy to get together for a round.
