What cigar did you smoke today?

Smoked a Montecristo #2 and a The Man and the C Culebra

For golf tomorrow I've lined up 3 robusto sized smokes - a Padron (not sure of the # right now), a JDN Antano, and a John Bull. Looking forward to them.

Had a Cain Black and a CAO Brazilia over the weekend.

Had the Cain for my fantasy draft. I enjoyed it, but it was a bit too light for my liking.

Had the CAO for my round yesterday and it was solid. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wheres the best place to buy cigars online? I just usually go to the local shop which is not even a mile from my house. Everything is very fresh and have not been disappointed yet. However I have been told if I buy them online they will be much cheaper.

So where do I go? A friend told me cigars international is where he gets his, but thats it.

CI is a great online shop... I have also had good results with JR Cigars as well. With online shops though, you are best off letting your new purchases sit in your humidor for a week or two to let them stabilize after shipping.

I've had two orders from CI that were terrible and the customer service was even worse. Thompson is almost as bad.

I buy from a family owned business in Tampa called tampahumidor.com

I've heard Emerson's is awesome as well.

I also want to say, cheaper isn't always better. We have worked hard the last year to get our pricing to the point that our local customers don't have to go online, but I also know that not every shop can do that. I think it is very important to support your local shop and building a relationship with them can lead to getting good deals and great service.

I will agree with this 100%.

Admittedly, I haven't ordered from CI in a year or two, but in the past their CS was always good to me. I wonder if I had a better experience because of my proximity--even ground shipping from them reached me in a day, two at most. Since I've picked up an e-cig, I smoke very few cigars these days... pretty much only on the course. I have enough of them in my humidors to last me for years at this point.

Thats a great point there

Oh I forgot to mention I asked a friend for a recommendation while I was in myrtle beach on vacation.

He suggested a Jamie Garcia "My Father Le Bijou 1922". I found it and chose a box press torpedo. OMG, probably best cigar I've ever had. I think it changed about 3 times during the course of the smoke and it lasted at least an hour and a half.

I have a couple of those sitting in my humidor at home, but haven't burned any yet. I may have to break one out tonight.

Camacho Triple Maduro torpedo....love these....

heading up to the lake for the holiday. Looking for recommendations on some cigars...

Suggestions? I usually try to stay in $7/ea range.

What do you normally smoke? Mild, medium or full bodied cigars?

I usually prefer full bodied, but I enjoy medium as well. I don't like Mild as much.

In the Medium range EP Carrillo Core Line or Core Line Maduro, Tatuaje Red Label, PDR 1878 Habano, Fuente Hemmingway or Padron Traditional Line

Getting in the Full Bodied PDR 1878 Oscuro or Maduro, Oliva Serie V, or La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero

These should all fall around $7 or less

Full bodied Cain 550 maduro or 660 habano.

Currently smoking a Liga Privada T52. Love these. Reminds me of the old cuban Monte's.

Jrod next time we tee it up together Id like to try a Cuban or something similar just to have one. I've never smoked a cigar of any quality before, but with all the cigar talk in here I need to. I'd gladly buy one off you.

Not a problem man. Cubans aren't all they are hyped up to be anymore unfortunately. The only Cubans I will buy in bulk are Bolivar Double Coronas.

I'll make sure to hook you up though.
