That's crazy. You need to order from somewhere, those taxes are a killer.I've never even seen that. I'll have to check that out! How much do they run a stick? The #9's here are 18.99 and the pig is 24.99

Yeah I think locally here in Miami they're right around $15/stick if im not mistaken. You definitely need to order online at those rates

You might try herfersparadise.com - they have different cigar forums, one of which is a "commercial" forum where members post cigars that are on sale from different online retailers. Sometimes you get a real nice deal. Also there is a lot of information in the other forums. Just a thought.
There is no relation between hackersparadise.com and herfersparadise.com. I think that herfersparadise.com may have been around before this website. Lots of information on both sites. No relation to hackersparadise.com?
Ok. Aging cigars comes with a lot of opinions and sadly a lot of them started on the Internet. Most cigars need no aging except for Cubans. When a manufacturer releases a cigar they are aging it to a flavor profile that they liked and that's when it's released. In fact there are plenty of cigars that when you age them will loose there kick and not just smooth out like people think. A great cigar to age is an opus it does age well and it also smokes well when you buy them. Some Tatuaje cigars get bland when aged and some get smooth. It's truly a hit or miss process. I have a lot of cigars that are aging (a few thousand) and while I smoke them I will have some that I love when I try them and others that I'm sad I aged. It's all hit or miss, here's an example I had an aged maybe 6 years Work of Art Maduro and it was very good but not better than if it wasn't aged just a different flavor profile.I want to talk about aging cigars. Should I start another thread?
Last week, I dug a CAO Italia out of the bottom of my humidor. It had no cellophane on it, I must have taken it to the golf course then returned with it unwrapped. Its been in there "aging" for about 2 years. The smoke was deliciously smooth from the first drag to the last. I've seen comments from you guys: "Just bought XYZ. Great smoke, but I can't wait till they get a few years on them"
How long are you aging them for, on average?
Do they get better with more time? May have to convert that spare bedroom closet into a humi-room.
Is there a magic window, like 2 years, where 80% of the aging has been done and you can expect them to have improved dramatically? or do i need to wait longer?
Since they age better without cellophane, can you cut the head off and remove from cellophane this way? seems more air would get through the smoke with no head? also don't want to damage them unwrapping them...
I know nothing about aging, except that I need more capacity. so I bought a 150 count humidor and a couple boxes of cigars.
Did some research after that post. As you mention NewGlfr, it all depends on the cigar. I learned that most Cubans do better with a little age. Non cubans CAN smooth out a little but some will lose all flavor with time, t the point you wont even recognize it as the same smoke. around 2 years seems to be the sweet spot while others are perfect after a few months. Best to test them at various intervals so your awesome smokes don't go in the trash because they're flavorless.
Just picked up a few Perdomo lot 23 and will unwrap them and give them a few months.
Jitzy where are you keeping a few thousand cigars?
Thanks for the info guys!!
