While I'm not worried about having to replace my clubs from a financial perspective as I have a Personal Articles Insurance policy on them (even covers mysterious disappearance), I still take them up to the room with me. As many have said, I don't trust the world today and don't want to go through the hassle of actually filing an insurance claim and then having to purchase clubs when I'm on a golf vacation.
While at home and when I was a club member, they'd stay in the car during the season (due to frequency of use) and into the basement in the off-season.
Now that I'm not a member anymore, they go in and out of the house every time I play.
