June 1st marks the 5 year anniversary of my first ever full round of golf. I want to do something special. I don't think my wife sees it as as big of a deal as I do, so traveling to Scotland is probably not in the cards. So If I keep it somewhat local, what should I do?

Pebble Beach?
a Weekend at La Quinta?

Let me know if you have any ideas or would like to join in the fun.

I say purchase a launch monitor =)

A weekend at Palm Springs?

For me it is on the table. When my wife sees what a weekend costs, I think it will get kicked off the table pretty quickly.

Same here basically. I told her when I turned 30 that on my 40th I want a full Pebble Beach area weekend. Plenty of time to save up.

I would set up a weekend of golf and take her with you, some spa treatments or some nice shopping for her. Happy wife, Happy life.

Haha. I told my wife for my 35th bday (Jan 2019) I wanted to play in the pro-am at the Tournament of Champions at Kapalua. She hasn't said no....yet.

My wife really wants to do a week at Napa Valley. I've told here I want a week near Pebble. My 50 is 4 years off. A nice two week vacation for my 50th woukd be pretty awesome.

And now that I've derailed the thread, a THP gathering is the only appropriate answer.

It's Hawaii... how could she say no?!

I like this idea! Been actually looking at the voice caddies myself. For the price and what I would want to get out of it, didn't seem that expensive. Gift that keeps on giving every year too!!

So funny you should say this. I had a conversation with her over breakfast this morning about buying one. She looked at me with shifty eyes and said "how much is it?"

I said "between 2 and $20000."

Top Golf in Vegas. Or just Vegas in general.
Golf, casinos, shows, buffets, and luxury day time Spa for her while you are at the range shooting fully auto rifles.

Agree with this: that is the route I am taking with vacation planning. I golf during the day, my wife goes shopping. Win-win although she outspends me 5-1 so watch your wallet and have fun!!

Been there. Done that. I'm not a huge fan of top golf. I'd rather be on the course. But TPC Vegas, Vegas CC, cascata, wolf Creek, etc. Are definitely an idea

When I bought my first launch monitor I had to do a spreadsheet for my wife of how much it would save. I showed here how much the range costs, how much the Skytrak was, how much I could resale it for 3 years from the purchase date, and how I would save time and be with her more since I didn't have to drive back and forth to the range.

See, now that's clever. I was thinking GC quad or trackman, but I doubt shell go for it. Maybe I can start her off small.

As a woman, I think the spa option is the best. Most resorts have excellent (and expensive) spas attached to them. If you decide to take the Vegas option you can get reasonably prices rooms at Caesar's and they have a great spa and the Forum Shops are right there too.
