... and even a Supreme Allied Commander of NATO.
Not from Granite City, but I remember regional track meets where everything would come to a complete stop and all heads would turn to watch the girl sprinter from East St. Louis just absolutely blow everyone away. Wasn't ever even close. She would have won any of the boys races. Her name was Jackie Joyner, and she was amazing to watch even as a teenager.
