My only reservation isn’t playing with women... it’s playing with OLDER women. Pace of play has always been an issue in those situations.

At the same time, while sure, I have played with a half dozen ladies through the years that were pretty good, I have played with far more that were terrible. But they enjoyed the game and that is all I care about...long as everyone had a good time, it was a good round
I’ve only been beaten once by a female golfer and she was giving me a hard time about losing to a girl... it was funny.

The only part of it that rubbed me the wrong way is that we were playing one of those courses where the reds aimply weren’t shorter but had a completely different feel to the course, taking out water and hazards etc so I was like “yeah, come see what my tee shot looks like back here 175 yards behind you”

My daughter grew up playing at my normal 70 minute per nine rate with me. The year she joined the high school team and got to experience what a 4.5 hour round feels like for the first time. She hates slow play just like her dad!

I play golf with my wife weekly. We get paired up with other male/female or female couples.

I'm surprised this thread has gone this far.

The topic suggests , at least to me, that women golfers shouldn't be playing with men. That they are "less than"

I'm a 66 year old white male. I just want to play golf. I actually prefer golfing with women cus there's less testosterone. When a women plays off the tips, its because she can

I should introduce you to my friend Pam. I've never seen her cheat or embarrass herself but she played D1 softball & tennis and she is rather good when it comes to tomahawking a club.

Based on a lot of the comments in this thread, I have to say I agree, which doesn't help to encourage new players (male or female) to the game

I would love to have a gf who played and if she was better than me, good!

Sounds like Lucy...@DucatiGirl is a riot to play with if you're into that kind of thing.
The round I played with DucatiGirl was great. We had a lot of laughs, indeed, but, it was also great in the fact that we could converse seriously about the swing, course management, putting, gear. She's a golfer, through and through.

so hilariously last night I was asked to partner with a lady in a "Date Night" for her group, a co-worker I had never met. I am not saying she was miles better than me...she only had the better tee shot 8 out of 9 holes, and some of the positions I left her for the second shot (playing a Chapman) mean she had very few opportunities for a second shot. She won the KP, would have won the long drive for ladies by 70 yards had she not been out of the fairway for the only time all day (and that was the one hole I outdrove her so I won the male long drive...huzzah), had a solid approach game...not going to lie, she struggled a bit putting, although she did hit a 10'er to save par on 8. My chips and putts were my contribution outside of one drive and a few approach shots, and many of those were just better because she put me in so much better position with her drives. We won the tournament handily.

The funny part is...several of the ladies were less than kind to her. She is so much better than them that none of them have a chance. Literally I was her handicap...they would give her a chance to win if she had a partner, but not if she didn't because then she would be alternating with herself. And I overheard a couple of the comments. The guys were nothing but complimentary, particularly those of us matched up with her because her game was a thing of beauty. The ladies who could not compete? not so much. Some pretty catty comments she "wasn't" supposed to hear and the congratulations on her KP and overall wins were...uh...less sincere than one might hope.

She said she prefers playing with guys because she can play a more reasonable distance and gets less flack. That might have been the best part of all.
