Each year at the Masters, there are some names that are in the field for the first couple of days that jump out because they won previously. My question is if Augusta National opened for one on one match, between these two, who wins it?

Mike Weir vs Trevor Immelman

Weir just because he is a lefty?

Weir because Augusta seems to be a good fit for lefties.

I say Immelman because at least he made 2 cuts last year.

But all I can think of in this comparison is this:

Trevor for sure only because he's 10 years younger.

Neither has done much of anything lately, but I think I'd give the edge to Weir as he's seemed to do a bit more as of late than Immelman.

Weir because he is awesome.

Wow. Hope it's not televised. Weir I guess.

I'm going with Weir.

Immelman, Not sure Weir has the body to play competitive golf anymore.

Nobody. Everyone just leaves the match a little more depressed for what they saw.

I'd go with Trevor.

I'm assuming they are the undercard for Lyle v. Woosnam?

The loser in this match is everyone who had to watch.

Trevor Immelman

We can't go with Woosnam?

I'd go Weir, with no real rationale behind it.

Honestly, I wouldn't even guess. But the question reminds me of a George Carlin skit, and I assume the results of this match would be quite similar:

"Here are the results of the blind person's golf tournament--they've
just come in: the winner was Johnny Downing with 1,829 strokes, just
enough to beat Larry Powell who lost any chance he might have had when
he took a 312 on the final hole."

immelman.

I am going Weir mainly because he is a lefty and had an ace in the par 3 comp before it was rained out.

Oh and he is from Canada

Holy cow what a coin flip, I'll go with Immelman.
