Great stick by Bryson! …. Rickie up next…. Matches the shot with nice roll up…RAHMBO time …. WINNNER! Closest to the hole
JORDAN ON THE BOARD!!!!!! TWEET TWEET!
With the highest by percentage (28%) for Berger, there should be a lot of movement in the THP fantasy league standings. The stretch run begins and now is when everyone can win.

we’re on the board!
I wonder if the batteries were included with Bryson’s shoes, or if he had to buy them separately. :ROFLMAO:
LOL, JS right of the flag stick between the the flag and water…..only about 5-7 feet worth of green there.
follow the leader on 15…. not in a good way… three right shots!

They are super bright. No mistake where they are on the course.
What a bunker shot from RAHMBO!

I am stunned that a world top 30 player at minimum $ is only on 10 rosters this week.
Rickie will never get lost in a crowd wearing that outfit.

The PGA Tour two-putt percentage from 13’4″ is only 72%? That can’t be right.

Doesn’t sound too out of line, considering the speed and difficulty of the greens they play.
Bryson w/ the eagle, driver, 7i, 1 putt. Jumps into the lead……again.
Rahm struggling a bit in the early going.

He is the epitome of “Grip it and Rip it! “
Jordan w/ a nifty bunker shot to go -2.
Great recovery shot by Bryson.
Bryson doing Bryson things.
Brooks with the fast start -4 after only four holes.

Same.
Already freaking loving how loud the Puma stuff is.
wait… why is his wedge the length of a six iron?
What a frustrating player Simpson is. Shortest hitting off the tee, always in the fairway, hitting 3-4 clubs more than his playing partners, hits every green and makes 4-5 birdies. Amazing.

And graphite…Yikes
As much as I don’t always agree with Faldo, he makes a good point about Bryson. His length is a great weapon, but he should learn to use it judiciously and when it’s to his advantage. The best answer isn’t always “Hulk smash ball as far as possible”. There are times it’s a great idea, but there are also times when it may be a better choice to dial it back a bit and maybe choose a different strategy.
What kind of idiotic plan is it to dial in wedges, and then get longer? You’d have to dial them in again anyways
It’s cute how every time he gets in a tough spot off the tee, that oh he should have magically avoided that spot. Cause no one else ever gets in a bad spot with their traditional plays. Overall, OVERALL, he is gaining strokes. That doesn’t mean he’s never going to see a tough spot.
But whatever, he’s LEADING a tournament again so it’s time to question everything.
Also, if that drive carries 5 yards farther, he’s going to be looking at 70 yards in, compared to 140 and 170 for Rickie and Rahm. Playing that hole 4 times this week, I’m sure that will pay off at some point.

You have a good point, but can’t both be true? Isn’t he holding himself back from running away with things by getting into some tough spots due to partial wedges? In other words, he is co-leading despite leaving “easy” shots out there (for a top 25 talent on the best stage in world) but would he be better served to play back on some par 4s? That driver, 7 iron, one putt will still be there.

I think it’s the same as the overall philosophy here. Over 4 rounds, going deep will yield a better score expectation than approaching from 150. If he is in the fairway the next 3 days, that’s a huge advantage for the week, especially considering he parred it today. And with how good his scrambling has been, the risk of dropping shots by missing a green is much lower than the reward of repeated chances to really stick one.
The thing is the commentators continue to hammer their point home when he misses a shot, but ignore when he doesn’t. They spend 5 minutes talking about how he HAS to change the wedge length when he missed the green at 1, but then he hits a great bunker shot to save, and they have nothing to say on the matter. He’s got 2 birds off wedges today already, but he misses a shot and it’s time to make a change

It defines a course boundary, so no free drop.
The 2nd hole was great. All this talk about how he had a bad strategy hitting his drive deep and missing the fairway. Rahm misses the fairway and is way back, so it’s not like hitting shorter is any guarantee of being accurate. He hits his 2nd shot from 59 yards to 4’4. And then the discussion is how he’s just playing a different game and it doesn’t make sense. No mention of those wedges the length of a 6 iron in that moment.
And Gary I definitely think he has lots of room for improvement, not disputing that. Just that there’s a lot of confirmation bias in the media commentary, and it’s just disappointing to hear every single week

Yeah, with the scrambling numbers what they are right now, yeah you may be right. He has been good around the greens and that covers up a lot of minor errors. Can we agree, no hook 3 woods out of deep rough this week?

Spieth off a tree on his second on a par 5 🙁
@Molten finally got some appreciation for the wedge length…when they said about how Rickie could have used it by the water :ROFLMAO:
There goes another flying club by Rahm. That definitely wasnt a slip, but I know this is a bad shot…so Let it Go!
