The Draw Is Overrated

eh, all I care is some semblance of consistency. Draws are pretty though.

I am fine either way as long as I am consistent.

My coach finally got it in my head to play a cut. I do play the cut a lot but every now and again I try to pull off the draw. It is a sickness

This. Nobody should consider either until they can hit the ball consistently in a decent dispersion of where they are wanting to.

Sure, it may “fit your eye”, and yes there’s tour pros that do it.
Fine, you can eek out an extra 6 yards.

but to score? consistency?

Fade.
Stop drawing.
Fade.

Yes I hate drawing a shot, mostly because I can’t control it. Trying to fade the ball I have the best control over where it’s somewhat going to go.

The draw is fine, it’s the hook that’ll kill you 😋

i would argue the draw is a more natural shape with a somewhat fundamentally sound golf swing

I can't control a fade at all. Either straightish or a draw is my only reliable option when swinging somewhat well.

Sounds like another bad take

I feel this is a personal attack..

Fade the woods, draw the irons.

haven't the long-hitting pros mostly all gone to a fade?
because...it's longer. and consistent.

me: not a pro.

I wanted a draw 3 years ago & got it. Now I have a hook that shows up from time to time & I despise it. Fades win Majors.

Draws turn into 160 snap hooks into the trees.

I can’t hit a fade with any sort of control.

I hit a small draw with every club, the difference between slice and fade, and hook and draw....is where this argument usually gets lost.

Small movement either via draw or fade, i'm not sure one is really better than the other
