New Jersey - 2013 THP Invitational Series Sponsored By TaylorMade Golf

Your stats professor must not have been very good. There are bets on the craps table that pay true odds. In other words the casino doesn't have an advantage. Simply not true in roulette.

By far craps has better odds than roulette in general, but what bet in craps gives you better than a 48% (or whatever it is) chance of winning like a one time red/black bet? I've also heard Baccarat has the best odds of any game, but never got into it.

Hmm now I am intrigued this sounds like my cup of tea.
It really is awesome. As long as you have 1 or 2 friends with you and you tip, every time your drink is empty a new one is right in front of you. They pour super heavy too. Video poker is super cheap too.

So yeah, how about that golf course eh....haha

Awesome I would prefer to sit at a bar also more in my comfort level. Haha

I went to the Poconos for a bachelor party and the casino had one of those video poker things with the chick's in bikinis reminds me of that haha

I'll have to stand in for you then. I held the dice for over an hour once! Maybe we can recreate that incredible evening.

And then you can sign up for the NE Invitational! Less than 10 spots left as of tonight!

The odds are what matters not the higher percentage chance of winning. So you have a 48% chance of winning but they are only going to pay you even money. The casino has a built in advantage of 4%. Let's flip a coin. Every time a heads comes up I will pay you $1. Every time a tails comes up you pay me $1.04. Over time who is going to win?

Take the odds bet on a 4 or 10. The casino will pay you the actual odds of you winning. 2 to 1. They have no built in advantage on that bet. Yes I know they do on the come/pass bet but I consider that a different bet.

I'm going to be a last minute guy on this. My Great Aunt is having her 91st birthday that day. She's not in the best of shape right now and might not make it. As of now I'm hoping to go to the birthday party. But if she doesn't make it and my daughter's softball team is knocked out of the playoffs by then and there are still spots open then I will definitely be in.

Sounds good to me. Good things always happen when the dice stay hot, that's my mantra.

If I had a dollar for every time I/JB explained Craps last time in AC I'd be pretty rich haha

Craps is a great game for saturday night especially cause it could turn into a "group" game.

did you invite the rest of us?? Enjoy

I havnt played craps in years because you need some money for table games espec on a saturday night. i use to always play them when in a/C. (craps, 3card poker, blkjak, etc) but for years now I play slots and only if i win i will then hit the tables. Espec on a saturday night where its hard to find tables less thn $25 as the prime time evening rolls along and you can lose your money way too fast if you dont have much.

Craps is the best rated "table game" for casino comp ratings and there is a reason for that. Its because (while it can be the most fun) its got the highest losing percentage. Actualy the slots get even higher ratings then that but you can usualy play and last at slots for longer periods of time vs a $25 dollar table. You can win more at the table but you have to be able to last that long before being broke. Its sort of a catch-22.

The best way to win at craps (and i dont do it) but is to unfortunately go against the shooter, stay away from all the big pay bets and just hope to win little by little through time as most the other people lose most of the time and your going the other way. However, it is not as fun, you dont make the big score and it is not looked at as good company to do that but people do it all the time and its the smarter bet. I dont do it cause it isnt fun and like many we want the fun and the big score but it is your best chance.

What happens is most people who do win will start pressing and betting everything everywhere and sure if your lucky you can (and the table can) win alot and big. I've done it myself but most times you dont and basically you give back what you won and more or just lose outright. Its just human nature as you go for the fast money.

As with any table game proffessional gamblers do not usualy win big money in short periods of time. They earn money little by little, hour after hour with alot of patience. But when we go we are there for the big score and a totaly different philosophy. To have fun and hope for the big pay out and lucky streek.

I've learned the only way to win at the casinos (unless you are that pro ^above^ who works real hard at it) is if you win on the way out...lol.. but its so true. And somehow so many times like magic, so many first timers win something. It happened to me my very first time ever about 20 years agao i put a quarter in a slot and won 500. Had i known it was a 5 quarter machine and played 5 it would have paid me thousands. If i won 500 nowadays when I just got there i will give it back unless i'm just lucky some more that night. Thats just the way it is. Win on the way out.

Not a big gambler at all relative to tons of gamblers but when i go I usualy plan on spending few hundred and I've had my share of winnings and its been in the thousands but one way or another through the years i am way behind in the red in casinos. Thats why they are still there. But i enjoy a/c now and then. My wife and i stay over, go to dinner, se a show, have a nice night out. Usualy lose a few hundred but try to do a short wekend somewhere , a room, dinner, a show etc and youll spend at least a few huindred anyway. And ocassionaly but rare just maybe go home with money. Its when you lose alot more than you can afford that its not so nice and can ruin things.

So good luck to all first timers. Take your winnings and get out...lol...and everyone else who may gamble. Hope you all win. And oh yea "me too'.

Looking forward to this can't come soon enough. Gonna be a great weekend and hoping I pay for my trip and some again like last year. Gotta hit some big numbers on roulette again.

That's awesome! I will be heading down to LBI tomorrow night and then heading to the course first thing in the morning Friday. Knowing me, I will be too excited to sleep and wake up at 7 and get to the course at 830 and putt for 2 hours

Man, I do that all the time! I told my son that getting up to play golf ( especially on a great course, and with good people! ) is like being a kid and getting up on Christmas morning. Now that he is playing and is 16, he says he totally agrees!

I still have laundry and serious packing to do before I leave before the crack of dawn on Friday.

My wife casually mentioned this a.m. that she is fine if I go down to AC on Friday. Are there are any afternoon slots available for those going out?

It's hilarious how it works.
