Aloe Blacc! I'm so glad he's getting some real success. I first picked up on him a couple years ago with the release of his first album. I saw an interview where he said he didn't want to be pigeon holed as a soul singer, but that he always wants to push genres because music is simply music.
Wake Me Up is actually an electronica/dance hit, but the Swedish DJ's label didn't want to include any guest artists on the record. Punks. I prefer the acoustic which is a very soulful country sound. You might recognize Mike Einziger from Incubus on guitar.
