Am I being overly sensitive that Mahan and the caddies indicated to the fans it was heading into the gallery, but Tiger just ignored yelling or indicating anything?
 
He does know he doesn't need to hit the ball close to the fans for them to follow him right?

Yes. Sometimes its not the golfer, unless its really bad, but a partner or official. There are a few like Rickie or Phil that usually shout it though.
