Im still wondering FWIW, if you can help me with those stats you are using. Its quite intriguing from a business sense and I have searched and searched and have not seen it.

I need to go to Best Buy and find a phone of comparable size to the 6 Plus and see how it feels. I will be upgrading ASAP just not sure to which size.

Amazon phone or Last years HTC One are very comparable in size.

Says water resistant not proof. Huge difference

Yes...VERY big difference.

Thank you for correct info.

I realize this, still surprising to see it remain that low. It wouldn't be a big deal to me, but if you are doing serious photography on your phone, as many are doing these days, I would think going up from 8MP would have been a big deal. Even if the camera is awesome, from a marketing standpoint I'm surprised it remained that low.

The problem is putting too many pixels on the small image sensors that fit inside of smartphones causes other image quality issues. There is a balance of pixel count and image sensor size that I'm sure the Apple engineers are aware of.

Thanks! I did a quick look and was going to use the Galaxy Note 3 as the comparison. This gives me more options.

Apple's site is up will all kinds of videos and info on the phone and watch. The more I browse the more I want the 6+!

No water resistant or water proof info at Apple.com

You and me both! Just can't justify the starting price point right now for a phone...$100 bucks is 100 bucks! I could use that on THP swag or golf stuff.

For the 6

All these product releases is destroying the value of my Iphone 5! Sorry, couldn't resist.

are you looking to compare the 5.5 model? Sorry the 2 I gave were more for the 4.7

I see Verizon already has a trade in a 4s,5,5s,5c and get a free iphone 6 16gb deal

I'm open to looking at both. I have pretty big hands so I'm thinking the 5.5" would work. Pockets may be a different story though I'm guessing.

Yeah so not happening. Gazelle is where I'm trading in my 5 to.

In my experience with 5.5" phones, they fit in pockets just fine, if you don't go with a protective case. If you have a case on there they get mighty cumbersome.

I was talking about U.S. smartphone market share. Worldwide Apple has a small percentage of the overall phone handset market share(most of the world doesn't use smartphones) but luckily for shareholders they take home the bulk of the profits.

Above is the latest I could easily find. Remember that Motorola, HTC, LG, Nokia, and Blackberry all lose money on their smartphones.

Here's a quote from the article which can be found on macrumors. http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/05/apple-comscore-july-numbers/

"As the launch of the iPhone 6 approaches, Apple continues to hold its title as the number one handset manufacturer among consumers in the United States, making significant gains in share during the three month period ending in July.

According to ComScore's latest numbers, the iPhone had a 42.4 percent share of the market, up from 41.4 percent in April. Samsung also saw small gains, jumping to 28.4 percent from 27.7 percent in April. Meanwhile, LG, Motorola, and HTC lost share, a trend that's been ongoing for several months."

I dont think that number is correct anymore. In fact I dont think its very close to correct. Forbes and others have put out quite a bit of different info recently and CNN had it up yesterday morning about marketshare.

Assuming the shatter resistant claims are valid, the only thing I'd want a case for is a kickstand. That's all I have on my 5 right now, a benign case that has a kickstand.

Checking size specs for the 6+. Looking at both the G3 and Note 3&4 for size comparisons.

Iphone 6+ - 6.22 x 3.06 x .28
Galaxy Note 4 - 6.04 x 3.09 x .33
Galaxy Note 3 - 5.95 x 3.12 x .33
LG G3 - 5.76 x 2.94 x .35

Pretty excited about the watch. Glad it will work with my 5.

Wife has decided to move from iPhone 5 to the new Moto X.

That is an interesting one. The question becomes, will a company stand behind it if it does in fact shatter? I have always wondered the need for a "pretty" phone because it just gets covered in a case.
