So my boss just came in and gave me some beer he brought from his trip down south to Vermont, I can't wait to taste them
he only asked for me to wait til I get home to open them
amongst the lot, some Eddy topper and Sip of sunshine, I have heard great things about these two
Hey Martin,
What's the microbrew situation like in Canada?
I have seen the Unibroue stuff before as my friend is originally from Toronto, so he tries to find local stuff, but have not seen anything else. It's good to see there is a strong microbrew trend north of the border. It is unfortunate about being able to get stuff from other parts of canada, and the states (and vice versa)... Always nice to try something new.we have some great stuff here, in Eastern Canada (Ontario-Quebec-Maritime provinces).
there are a lot of small breweries, this is a market that is growing pretty fast. I dont think you guys get to see much of our beer down in the states, I know I have seen some Unibroue (fin du monde, maudite, Blanche de Chambly, etc) and some Glutenberg (gluten free beers) in the states, both are breweries right here in the Montreal area.
But with the laws being how they are, stuff from other provinces is hard to find, unless we go there and pick some locally. Same thing for American beers, the best way to buy some is to cross the border.

Some Western Canada microbreweries that have caught my attention lately:maybe the guys from the wester provinces can hop in, as I really dont know about how it is in that par tof the country, I can only talk about the east really.
Probably not. Same as when AB bought Goose Island. Big boy brewery gets a nice feather in their cap, craft brewery gets more capacity for their main beers, opening up their existing production capacity for more experimental brews.so... Heineken buys half of Lagunitas
what do you guys think, did we just lose one of the great craft breweries?
I remember thinking the same when Saaporo bought Unibroue here, and we did see the quality fall a bit as the volume grew, but their stuff is still rpetty good.

They are, and in greater volumes. 312 and I believe Honkers is brewed in the Northeast now. They've come out with a lot more variety now that their bread and butter is being brewed elsewhere.interesting, is Goose island still making their great stuff, bourbon county and such? because I honestly wasn't impressed with their more regular stuff, maybe its just me
Any good? I saw that at the store the other dayNew Belgium Slow Ride
