Best music cover songs

My favorite has to be Club Nouveau's reggae cover of "Lean On Me".

ANY cover of a Bob Dylan song is better than the original.

Dylan is quoted as saying he actually likes Jimi's version of watch tower better. Always thought that was pretty good.

My favorite cover of a Beatles song: Joe Cockers With a little help from me Friends with Jimmy Page on lead guitar on the studio version completely different song actually on the same album there is a great cover of Bye Bye Blackbird

My favorite cover of House of the Rising Sun is by Leslie West from The Great Fatsby- it has a quiet flute intro and some great back up vocals by Rita Coolidge

Guns and Roses did a great cover of Sympathy for the Devil

The Waterboys did a great cover of Vandaman's Sweet Thing on Fishermans Blues

Grace Jones owns La Vie en Rose

I'm a big Dave Matthews Band fan, and I like a lot of the covers the band does and a lot of the covers he does with Tim Reynolds. some of my favs are All Along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan), If I Had A Boat (Lyle Lovett), The Maker (Daniel Lanois), and Long Black Veil (Johnny Cash).

Dave and Emmylou Harris singing Long Black Veil at the Ryman for the Johnny Cash tribute is amazing.

I would never claim these to be the "best" cover songs, but here's a handful that I have done in my spare time. I don't have a band, I just do it all myself. These were intentionally made to sound more like a garage band than an actual studio performance.

Crosby, Stills, and Nash: Southern Cross - https://app.box.com/s/93c4v8il8jk6ixf2ah6j

I'm glad I did a search first because I was about to start a thread for cover songs. I'm planning on making a golf playlist of them. Been a while since anyone posted here, so I gotta ask if there are any new suggestions?

Heard this one while we were in England and thought it was pretty good. This is the kind/style I am looking for.

I'm almost ashamed at how much I love this cover song.

Metallica - Turn the Page is probably my favorite cover ever
