Only exhibitions penalize players for being slow. 
in an interesting twist, the final round of the LIV Jeddah event was aired (tape-delay) on NBC in my market yesterday.
this was due the rain delay of the PGA Cognizant event and that the local NBC affiliate is also a CW affiliate.

it's also intriguing to me how much more my son in interested in the team results. this is usually a side-bar item for me, but he's looking at the leaderboard and naming each of the teams in order based just on their logo. he views sports as a team effort by default, they could probably market this to younger people more effectively, their gear sales promotions are pretty minor.
