To bad Snedeker has to withdraw from the WGC as he was using this driver very well!
Saw him warm up at the range. Didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Don't know why he backed out. Haven't checked the interweb

This one might be the most intriguing release of the year for me as drivers go.
Why so? It seems like this has been an especially good year for quality product releases. Hearing that any one item stands out really gets my attention.

i went by my fitter today to drop off a rogue shaft to be extended, and asked about this driver since he reps bridgestone. he doesn't have it in stock for demo, but he did show me a jgr driver and fairway wood he built for a tour player who hadn't picked it up yet. INSTANT ponder. the thing is beautiful at address, very confidence-inspiring. and the paint job and face contrast makes it look compact. and the fairway wood looks awesome too. i was trying to be good this year, but now i'm not so sure! he said both the driver and fairway wood are launchers. with the stock fubuki both felt pretty heavy.
my only beef, and there's nothing to be done about it and i completely understand why they did it, is the lack of adjustability. i haven't tinkered with my j815 since finding the right setting, but out of the box it was a nasty hooker and i would have written it off. knowing that the jgr is targeted to the same kind of golfer makes me concerned that it will be draw-bias as well. if it is, i'm out, which is a bummer because it looks so freaking good and if it's an improvement over the j815 wrt ball speed retention and launch conditions i will be very sad not to be able to game it.
I spoke to BStone rep at demo day and I believe it s 1° closed. So it is draw biased.
I asked my fitter whether anything could be done about lie angle or face angle and he said no. maybe lead tape or hot melt?

depends on how much fade biased you need. You Can always add lead tape to with negate a 1° close face . But I don't know what your j815 is currently set up at and how much draw correction you need. I can negate a 1° close face very easily with just a weakened grip.
my j815 is set to "RIGHT"
i want the driver to sit neutral on the ground, so if I change my grip then I feel like I'm manipulating the default weighting of the club. I still want to hit it, but I'm concerned.

Are the weights on this interchangeable? How would moving the heel weight to the center back location and vice versa affect the club?
I really do think about this one a lot. Would love to put it through its paces against the other offerings I have reviewed.
I know club clash is coming, but I do still think about it a lot.
