Well I've only taken 3 vacations during winter time and they were a cruise to Haiti/Jamaica, Disney and Mission Inn for Bstone U. I can say all were great spots.
I will say the cruise was awkward since it was the week after the big earthquake in Haiti and when we stopped at our port (we were the cruise ship you saw on the news dropping off supplies) we were told no food would be served on the boat that day so we had to get off and spend money to help out the situation. I'm all about helping out but when you got off you were in the Epcot version of Haiti and the local workers were serving everyone a free all you can eat buffet....just felt wrong for so many reasons. We also weren't allowed out of the gated port area they owned. Sorry for the side rant but a cruise is always a good idea in the winter usually..
