French Lick Resort

I recall reading/hearing the rounds on these courses is less than 10,000/yr. The teaching pro at my home course played an event there and says French Lick is truly remarkable. It's the only course memorabilia you'll find in his office. The trick is visiting French Lick at the right time of the year. September and October is ideal. I hope to play both courses someday.

Bill Cook (founder of Cook Medical) deserves a lot of credit for rehabbing the resort and returning it to its former glory.

New bucket-list course for me! Wow, that is gorgeous!!!!

Haven't had the opportunity, but as someone else mentioned I'd heard about it on PGA Tour radio. Looked it up and remarked that I'd get over there someday.

Can't say I've ever thought about going to Indiana to golf but Um WOW that place looks sweet!
Several of the top courses in the US are in Indiana both private and public. The state is trying to do an RTJ type thing called the Pete Dye Trail, but it doesn't seem to be gaining traction yet.

Some of the courses:

French Lick
Brickyard Crossing
The Fort

I had my bachelor party in French Lick. We played the Ross course twice and hit up the casino at night. Overall great experience. My buddies said they didn't want to pony up for the $350 greens fees at the Dye course... but they were happy to lose that amount and much more at the black jack table and roulette wheel :()

I haven't been there but definitely want to.

Gorgeous courses. I guess if I find myself in Indiana at some point in my life I might want need to check it out.

Looks like a perfect site for the 2020 Morgan Cup that I am officially nominating myself for. ?

Have never been but I am pretty sure a THP event there would not suck.

Have never been there but have heard several rave reviews about the resort and courses.

I won't pay what Dye costs for a round of golf but have played Ross a couple times. Actually going to Ross tomorrow for 1st time in quite a few years.

Not that I know of currently. Just genuinely curious as I got some press copy on it.

Gee, I was looking for somewhere interesting to play in October when I show up.

I still don't know where Indiana is .... looked for it on the map but

Haven't played it, but have heard amazing things from those who have. Would be a great site for a THP event....

i've been on property for a conference but haven't been able to play. It is a top notch and top class kind of place that would be fantastic for a THP event. only a couple hour drive from Indianapolis airport....maybe an hour and 45 mins from Louisville, KY airport...

The facilities and accommodations are superb!

I live in that circle of nowhere, it’s not as bad as some make it seem. Low cost of living, lots of jobs when the RV industry is good.

That said, I played both of those courses last year. The Ross course had just had the Symetra tour there and was a bit chewed up. It was also blazing hot that day so while it was a really nice course it gets hot in the valley and I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as I did the Dye course the next day. Up top it was cooler and that course is the best i’ve ever played. Our caddy was amazing and the course seemed perfect. It is difficult but I played better there than at the Ross. Oh, and two words....Volcano Bunkers! Our caddy had us climb up one near a green and go for closest to the pin, really cool.

The best part, in my opinion, is that if you stay at one of the two resort hotels there they have a free trolly service that will take you anywhere downtown or pick you up. Runs pretty much all night from what I remember. I parked my truck and didn’t see it again until we left. Overall it was a great experience, expensive, but if you can swing it I doubt you would come away disappointed.

that place looks great!!! would be something to go and play it. not sure if I would every make it up there though.....

unless of course a THP event is hosted.......

Some of you guys have missed this thread...Always changing.

Need to somehow get Larry Legend involved.
