Sounds like a good lineup. H.E.R wails on guitar.

Gary Hobbs - Tejano music
Last Friday. Amazing concert 🪗

Jason Mraz - a few months ago. He's always puts on a good show.

We went to see New Order a week past on Thursday and Deacon Blue last night, both at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

Both absolutely outstanding.

I seen them in Falkirk last year. Outstanding. Going to see them again later in the year in Edinburgh and they’re being supported by Johnny Marr. Can’t wait.

Quoting my own post here. Saw The Killers last month with Johnny Marr. Unbelievable.

I go to a lot of gigs. Over the last couple of years I’ve seen:

2022:
The Beat
Simple Minds x2
Johnny Marr x2
Blondie
Liam Gallagher
Kasabian x2
Absolute Jam x2
Calvin Harris
Primal Scream
Skaledonia
Shed 7
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD)

2023:
The Beat
Bow Wow Wow
The Killers
Johnny Marr
James Grant
New Order
Transmission (Joy Division tribute)
The Devout (Depeche Mode Tribute)
Kevin McDermott Orchestra
Wu Tang Clan
Nas
Deacon Blue

Still to come this year:
Atomic Blonde
Band Called Malice
Ice Cube
Cypress Hill
Transmission
The Style Councillors (Style Council tribute)
Shed Seven this Thursday at The Barrowland Ballroom. The best venue in the world.

Footnote here, The Slow Readers Club supported Shed Seven on Thursday. Cracking band. Check them out.

2024:
The Orb
Depeche Mode
Simple Minds
Foo Fighters
From The Jam
Dirty Harry (another Blondie tribute band)
Rezerection (a rave for my 50th birthday!)
Johnny Marr
UB40
Soul II Soul
The Beat
Happy Mondays
Inspiral Carpets
Paul Weller

I’ve forgotten some so I’ll need to edit this list.

Think my ex-wife dragged me to an Aaron Lewis concert in 2014, maybe? I don't really remember. Not a fan of concerts at all.

Would love to see Liam In concert. I really like his solo stuff.

Hope he comes to the states. Just Europe at the moment…..

Lessee... I saw Diann Krall earlier this year. Then I saw Dwight Yoakam this summer. I'm going to see Trans Siberian Orchestra with my girl this fall. My girl and I are trying to get tickets to go to Defcon 1 next spring. And I regret not going to see Swedish House Mafia last summer when they played Miami on their farewell tour.

Queen w/Adam Lambert at MSG last Friday.

It's really HALF of Queen with Adam Lambert, though. It isn't a 'bad' show, but it wasn't a "Queen" show that I remember from around 1979/80. Lambert does a pretty good job and has range, but something is missing. Brian May is Brian May- still am in awe of what he can do during that solo break that they put in every show.

I was talking to a co-worker who went and we kind of hit on the fact that Lambert plays up the 'Queen' aspect of Queen. Can be a bit too 'camp', but he isn't exactly known for being in the closet, now is he?

Thomas Rhett a few years ago. Not huge on crowds so don't go to many.

Decent summer of shows for me. Would have liked to see a few more, but it's getting hard to afford.

Stapleton (very good - a little overproduced/album-y)
Pearl Jam (amazing other than everybody that plays in MSP has to do their rendition of stupid Purple Rain)
Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats (best live band ever)
