A lot of us get the occasional stiff back, sore knee, or funky ankle, but we carry on. Some of us rest the injury, some of us still play golf and hope the ibuprofen lasts the entire round.
I have played with a sore back many times, patella drifting, and even a hernia before surgery.

What injuries have you fought through to get your fix?

I have strained my hip flexor in my left leg/hip about 2 months ago and has bothered me ever since. I also have plantar fasciitis in my right foot from an injury 4 years ago that I cannot get to go away. As of right now I just don't have time to slow down and rest my injuries because they will take months to heal up. I was thinking of taking Dec,Jan,Feb off coming up but knowing me I take some Bayer and get to it.

left elbow pain. played several months last year with this pain

Currently in month #10 of recovery without surgery for lower back disc issues. Golf doesn't seem to aggravate it at all, but some days the stiffness and general soreness bother golf.

Dislocated ankle, spend two months in a soft cast. Still played while wearing the cast, shockingly my scores were not that bad.

On the 3rd hole of Louisville course, about ten years ago, I hit the ground overswinging a driver off the tee and my left shoulder popped out and back in (ball carried the hazard, right down the middle). I dropped to one knee and saw stars, nearly passed out. It was a really hot July day and everthing was sore but really loose. I took it easy but finished the round. Swinging under control I actually played pretty well. It was sore for months and pretty well ended my softball playing days.

I have had right elbow tendonitis since August 2014. Still play, try to stretch it out, but it only will get better with rest. Which I will not do until this fall. Maybe.

I've done it like many, and it usually makes things worse if it wasn't something that didn't go away with an OTC painkiller.

Better to take a couple weeks off than be in more pain, play bad, and then have to wait longer to get back into good health.

Right now I think my left wrist is seriously sprained, maybe fractured. Not stopping. I have. Brace for it but I can't grip the club right. I should see a doctor.

Left elbow this season, will rest it when the snow flies. Last year, bruised ribs made for a painful swing

Sissy that I am I don't play in pain. For me it doesn't make sense to prolong an injury or even make it a chronic condition rather than fully recovering.

When I first started, I pulled a muscle in my back moving a couch. I could turn back, but not through, and thusly, learned how to hit an old style draw.

Shoulder injuries - bone spurs both shoulders. Had cortisone shots, and they really made the bone spurs go away. #haha #fightthruthepain

Patellar tendinitis - bone spur right under the tendon. Modern medicine can work wonders here with two months of physical therapy. #sarcasm #fightthruthepain I'm waiting for nanotechnology later this century to take care of this problem.

Solution to shoulder problems - don't hit the ball out of tall wet rough, and keep those rotator cuff muscles strong.

I've been playing for probably 5 years with a tweaked wrist. I can't recall exactly when I injured it, but I remember it was on a 3-day, 5 round golfcation with the guys and I just gutted through it, even put a light brace on for at least a couple of rounds. Maybe not the smartest thing, but I wasn't about to waste the trip.

Ever since, it's been up and down. I'd go through stretches where I would rarely make it through a round without tweaking it, but I never really committed to take time off for it to heal or to get it looked at. The rare times that I was forced to not play for a few weeks, it didn't seem to really help. I'd still tweak it sometimes.

Thankfully, it's recently been pretty cooperative, say for maybe the last 3 months or so. I can't recall really any time I've swung and felt it aggravated. While I can still feel it when doing some tasks, I don't seem to have a problem with it in my golf swing. The biggest things that helped I think were adjusting my grip slightly and cutting down on hip turn in my backswing.

I've spent years with on and off lower back problems. Sometimes I can play through it and sometimes I need a couple of weeks off.

If I show up saying "oh, my **** is hurting" (usually my back or neck), my buddies will usually give up and hand over the beer money on the first tee. They know, and I know, that if I'm hurting and playing, my swing is more controlled and therefore I'm striping the drives and hitting the irons better.

But I've played through all kinds of injuries. The latest is a rotator cuff issue that can create stars when it flares. FORTUNATELY- My swing is in such a slot that it is NOT an issue when I swing. It might hurt when I tee it up, take the clubs out of the bag, turn the wheel on the cart (when riding), but get up to swing? nothing.

I have degenerated discs in my back & neck, so I pretty much wear a capzacin patch and take some advil when I play. I tore my right plantar fascia 2 years ago, and I have fought nagging injuries ever since that I'm convinced were caused by compensations from that. Weird thing is the majority of the nagging injuries don't bother me much when I golf

I play pretty much any week there isn't snow on the ground... I think for the first time this winter, I may take a few months off - after I help Team Redemption win the Grandaddy of course! Haha

I am playing on a recent back surgery and a fractured ankle. It's been a rough year with injury for myself. Note I had never had these type in the past. I keep struggling at times but it will heal overtime

Just this last 2 months ive played through a sore elbow and ankle. Just pop a couple of painkillers before the round and go for it.

This is the list as of today:
Something torn in my wrist. Its not broken, going to a second specialist next week. Last one said physical therapy, possibly surgery. Recommended not to play golf until its fixed. Solution: alcohol
Fracture in my foot and a spur. Cant feel the tops of 3 of my toes (numbness). Solution: walk it off
Both eyes have a small infection due to bad contact solution, causing me to act like a vampire in sunlight. Solution: sunglasses
Developing pain in my knee? came out of no where. Solution: alcohol
Burn on my right buttock from the heat coming off my wallet from not having great health insurance. Solution: tbd

and im only 24, if its already this bad who knows if ill still be playing at 30

I have a sore left wrist/hand right now and no idea why. Just came out of no where yesterday, but I still played last evening.

Playing with an injury

Chronic pain in my right knee from excessive scar tissue from multiple surgeries. Inflammation is a constant factor.

Right hip has three screws from fracture last August that will be taken out before year end and then hip replacement following soon after screws are removed.

Medicare kicks in November 29 th. and waiting on it to get my ailments repaired.

bad stomach, cramps, various minor sprains, and a major sprain involving the whole left arm. that last one made me change my grip and swing.

the most memorable was a torn right calf muscle. i decided to play on, and won the "most accurate drive" (3 inches) for the tournament with that torn calf muscle. had to limp to the stage to get my award.

Back pain galore for me.... I've fought it for years since a couple bad car accidents. These days it's more my neck. Stretching, stretching and stretching is the key for me.

I did just sprain two fingers on my right hand which has put a kink in things for a couple weeks here.

I just push on through for the most part. Although I will not play if the injury alters my swing much. I don't want to develop anymore bad habits than I already have.....

I think we have all played at some point with back stiffness and or soreness. Twisted my ankle last season in the first hole and walked the whole round. It was swollen for about month but played through it.

Currently I have bone chips in my right elbow limiting my range of motion. I am playing through it pretty well. My orthopedist wants to remove the chips so I am waiting til the winter for the procedure.
