Please tell me what is wrong with so many of us.

If you are in a position of having some disposable $ then new golf clubs will be considered seriously. That use to be me and clubs came and went often with nary a change of handicap. Now as I'm retired not tons of $ laying around....I still go overboard just not as often. It's a disease....Is there a GG like AA....Help
