Share your Morgan Cup Memory

Lots of cool memories from the last year.

Finding out I’d been selected was super exciting. I’d ALWAYS wanted to go to a Morgan Cup as it was the first event I’d followed when I joined. It’s much different today, but still.

The first team dinner with everyone and getting to meet all the guys on Thursday night. I thought I was going to eat with all the Paradise guys, but I got pulled over to my Hackers brethren.

@maxw72 driving me back to the hotel on Saturday night.

Breakfast with @Parrot & @baylrballa and the awfully perky waiter we had lol.

The chat on the par 3 with @Parrot @MarMill and @jdtox

The chip in to extend the match after @jdtox stuffed one to two feet in Alt Shot.

The crazy match with @KY Golfer including a ball that mysteriously ended up on the 2nd green and him coming back from 4 down to tie the match. Truth be told, he might have pulled it out if we kept playing. Great competitor and gentlemen that guy.

Finally getting to play with @OITW and @jdtox after many years.

Listening to stories from Jose and Yags post event was epic!

Taking @Parrot on the long route to the Airport when I dropped him off lol.

Getting to eat some in and out burgers with @OITW and @jdtox before heading to the casino on Sunday evening

Getting most of the guys together after it was all said and done in one of the casinos in Vegas.

Lots more memories and I know I’ve left off many. So much awesomeness.

Where to even start!

I had been playing 18 holes with one of my pal, and when I got back turned my phone on to log into my emails just to see what I had missed from the day's work. Couldn't understand why I had literally hundreds of THP notifications, and when I realised what it was just hit the roof. So many PMs from folk, and congratulations from people that I didn't know was already humbling. Then @Canadan called me on video call, and I gradually got drunker and more emotional with every minute that passed

Following from there, so many things. Being part of the group chat, the banter back and forth and generally friendship. Taking dogs abuse for my short game stats (@Jmk202 I still remember!) and the whole process about deciding on the bag setup, getting fitted and then the arrival of several large boxes from Cobra. All the time talking to the guys and anticipating the event. Just the absolute enthusiasm from the whole team, with the welcoming words and friendliness, @H8tobogie, @Bernoulli and @jlew2144 were always ready with a kind word.

And then of course there was the main man @OITW who was always there for a chat, encouragement and quite a bit of enabling in terms of Cloudspun, dude your love of this event was something to behold.

Sadly 202 had it's own ideas, but the nerves I had watching the livestreams, and following along with every post at the event made it so real, and felt like I was actually there. Edge of my seat the whole time and the sportsmanship that everyone showed was out of this world.

Just an incredible event with incredible people.

@JB @GolferGal @LittleRat and @Master Yagley along with Cobra/Puma absolutely crush it, and a huge debt of gratitude is owed to them all. I love this place!

There are some amazing stories and moments in this thread! Still think @Canadan’s Arnold Palmer bag that was given to him as a Captain’s gift is an iconic Morgan Cup story!

Man.....

Getting waxed by @Scarnici with @ddec as my partner. Was more than just leaking oil eh Deano?

A putter being lost on a par 3, totally lost.

Sitting in a room with some amazing guys watching Jake and Hawk just hold court and tell some of the most amazing stories I’ve ever heard.

Ice cream run.

Getting abused by the hat draw.

@#Cookie ACE in MC competition.

@Canadan and I bawling like idiots after having to play each other in singles and @mikeg_74 being there to document it, thankfully that footage was never seen because we were delirious.

Keeping up on the forum for every single MC from inception to present, and still to this day wishing more than anything to go back to one.

I’ve told this story a bunch of times, and nobody ever believes me that it happened.

Most of the time it's the people that make an event. Many times, the views are almost as good as those that are there...

I only have a handful of golf action shots, and have always liked this one of @KEV

Good fun, good courses, and great people.

You get out of it what you put into dude, glad you’re going next year. Getting on and chatting with you was always a highlight especially during the darker days earlier in the year, regardless something you would say or how you’d say it would bring a smile to my face

It was quite the journey wasn't it? Despite the disappointment that 2020 bestowed upon us as far as the MC, it was a pleasure to your teammate. And I will be there in spirit in 2021 as you complete the journey that was started in 2020.

I'm so glad you're in the Cup for 2021. You will have a MC experience that likely will be unmatched. I'll be following every step of the way. It's going to be such a blast!

It's still burried.

I was going to throw something up about the Hawk and Jake covos.

First time for me that I can remember nearly all staff being in the same room together, just shooting the sh*t and having fun.

Those stories are some of my most cherished memories of the event. Esp when Hawks answer is..."anything you want"

Another one that comes to mind is being completely and utterly intimidated by @fupresti at the meet and greet the night before the event. He's a sweetheart of a guy, but he's a hell of a golfer. He was our captain, and because I said I was a decent putter, he chose to play with me in our first outing. Then he told me we'd be teeing off first.

I was a ball of nerves all night. I didn't want to be the first person to screw up the tee shot (I knew he wouldn't) and I didn't want to look bad in front of my captain. When the moment of truth arrived, I stood on the first tee of the Patriot Club and admired the daunting tee shot... I somehow managed to calm my nerves. We both hit our balls center cut into the fairway, albeit mine was about 70 yards short of David's.

Since that moment, I ask to tee off first in any tournament I play in. It's now my comfort zone. Without my cap, I would have never had the nerve to even try.

edit* the worst thing that happened in that round was we had a 4 footer to win the match on #9. I missed it! Pulled it left. Tap in to halve the match:cautious:

Literally the first time I know of anyone has referred to me as a sweetheart. I have played in two Morgan Cups and the 2017 one will always stick with me because I got my chance to get a bit of revenge on Jake for my loss to him at The King in 2015. The Morgan Cups were always my favorite events in terms of scope and meaning and they are truly something you have to experience for yourself.
