What Golf Stuff Did You Do Today?

played in a tourney today...didn't play as well as i would've liked but i guess progress has been made over the last 2 years so i probably shouldn't completely discount that.

Got a lesson with a new coach and I am excited again with progressing my game. Been stagnant for the better part of a year and has been frustrating.

Lets see. Wednesday I played twilight golf, 9 holes with 1983 Hogans just for the heck of it. Did alright, considering. Club selection for distances was a challenge. Shot a 43. Made some nice putts.

Thursday I played 15 holes (rained out) with 2020 TE fitted blades. Did a little better. I was at 71 when we had to quit. Was still putting well.

Friday I played 18 holes in windy, much cooler weather using my regular game improvement gamers on my home course.
Did alot better, with an 82. Home field advantage is great thing in any sport/game. Probably the first time I played in long oants in 10-11 months.

First 24 holes were played at the Mojave GC, at the Avi Resort, south of Laughlin, Nevada. Great course. I highly recommend it. The resort/casino itself was ok.

Today I woke up up to 30*f weather, with some wind. Might watch some tv golf if anything is on. Just know I'm indoors for a while today.
I've played Mojave Resort quite a few times, it's on our "extended" rotation (about an hour from home). Nice track, and they keep it in good shape pretty much year 'round. It's owned by the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe, so they get unlimited water - and they take advantage of it! Glad you enjoyed it, maybe we can meet up at one of the courses in Laughlin/Bullhead City for a round some time!

So how did the tournament go, @Doubleb21?

Had a rough day with the flat Stick. I four putted a par 3 that I took 2 to get on. I missed lots of pars and just could not get off the bogey train. Missed a few birdie ops also. Drove the ball well and irons were good. Just a day and will try again tomorrow. My groups winner was an 80. What’s crazy is I actually practiced putting all week and felt good about it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Played 18, received my THP secret Santa gift!

Spend an hour at the Golf Dome. I’m starting to see some results from my gym workouts, getting some increased ball speeds. Always nice to get acknowledgment of the work you put in.

Shot 86, net 77. So good, quite a few bad.

Buddy bought some new courses so we played Colonial today. That was a bit tight for me. Fun to be able to hit when it's 20° outside

THP'd. Talked to my wife about golf stuff for Christmas (She's not on board with the SL2 rangefinder).

Looked at a house to maybe buy to get closer to MSP/SP area... and the first thought I had was that my sim wouldn't fit in the garage so it was a solid "no" from me. Wife is debating...

And will probably play some sim golf tonight.

THP now, and toggled back and forth between football and the QBE shootout. Kevin Na and my man Jason Kokrak won it with a 60 in the final round playing 4 ball.

While at the hardware store, picked up a 36-in straightedge as a putting aid. Read here to use a yardstick to practice keeping the putt on the stick for three feet.

Worked on the swing. Hips. I'm a spinner, and my right hip rotates out. Working on an improved move with a squat/bump where my right hip still rotates but stays more in line with my left hip. This gives me room for the club shallowing I am working on. Using gcquad, I like start with the range, working on specific swing things and also progressing through a few clubs, and then pick a course with auto putt and work on shots, taking mulligans as often as desired. Played The Farms today. Then I finish with the range and hit 75-100 yard shots, kind of a cool down.

Played 18 today. Shot 78 with a eagle and couple of birdies. If only I could have gotten rid of a couple of double bogeys on the card...

Got out of the house for a little chipping practice. Got tired of watching the Raiders get trashed by KC.

Was doing alright until an errant shot hit me in the back of my leg. The guy hitting 50 yard shots behind me must've shanked one. Nothing was said, but he did come get his ball. Funny, older than me dude.

After that, I went to the putting green. I sucked over there. Just didn't have it today. No excuses. I was either short, long, or didn't borrow enough. 45 strokes for 18 practice pins in the 8 -15 foot ranges.

Practiced on the sim today. It's going to be a long path incorporating swing changes from my lesson. Its reversing 14 years of a bad habit.

Played in a tournament. Did spectacularly mediocre. Put the Chrome Soft X LS in play instead of the Chrome Soft. I was a little worried about the spin in the LS affecting my short irons and wedges. I didn’t need to worry. I should have done this a long time ago.

I played 18 today.

More practice! Day 2 after my lesson and I am starting to see glimpses of greatness. Still need to continue to grind and ingrain the changes.
