And why is it Tim Curry? What is your favorite role of his?


... Now on the off chance you have a different actor in mind, who and why? It can't just be a one off performance.
 
Bruce Dern. He shot John Wayne in The back.
 
Alan Rickman would like a word, even if it's only one role.

Christoph Waltz for Inglorious Basterds and Spectre. Both pretty good

Giancarlo Esposito, breaking bad , the boys etc

Alan Rickman for die hard, Robin hood ..

Javier Bardem for No country and Skyfall

Jon Voight for like 100 movies and just his overall face

That is why I put that stipulation. I'm a sucker for Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Snape could go either way.

But Curry has:

Legend (best iteration of the devil imo)
Ferngully
Three Musketeers
Home Alone 2 (count it)
Muppet Treasure Island (watching it right now with my 2 year old and why I made this lol)

Curry is great.

But I’ll take Christoph Waltz and Javier Bardem any day.

Heath Ledger’s Joker was good enough to be considered a top of all time for me
 
In all seriousness, there are way too many roles. It, the butler, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Emperor Palpatine. Too many to name.







 
He’s not the best, but he’s played two villain roles exceptionally well: Jason Issacs. The Patriot as Colonel Tavington, and the Harry Potter series as Lucius Malfoy. Two of his biggest roles and he’s just someone you want to see get rekt.

Is he the bad guy in Clue? Depends which ending you decide to watch.

Rickman was the villain in Die Hard and Prince of Thieves. I forgot about the Robin Hood movie.

Also Gary Oldman is pretty damn great in villain roles too.

edit: just to be clear, I don't think you're wrong. Just throwing out other actors, for discussion purposes.

Yea, his villian in the Patriot is top 3 of my most hated characters (cause he does it so so well.)

Like Hans Gruber I don't hate and he is a great villian

My thing with Rickman and Oldman is that they also play so many good guys too. I know Curry isn't exclusively a villian but it seems like it.
 
Christopher Lee needs a mention.
